Several remodels were just completed during a 3-week dry dock.

In the Oceaneer Club, a new play area is themed around the Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars films. Kids will join the Rebel Alliance and help pilot the ship from the cockpit. They can go through hyperspace and jump to different points around the galaxy. There are also Star Wars Rebels gaming stations; themed crafts, games and activities; and showings of Star Wars Rebels on a large screen.

Another space is inspired by the Disney Infinity video game. There is a Toy Box area, allowing kids to play together using both virtual experiences and immersive activities. On-screen adventures can be customized with all their favorite Disney characters. Kids can even unlock exclusive Disney Cruise Line content to use in their Disney Infinity games at home, including accessing all the custom Toy Boxes they built on the ship.

Disney Parks Blog describes one new experience:

“A life-sized Disney Infinity Base sets the stage where children take the place of character figures for a group gaming experience unlike any other. Lighting up in response to gameplay on a large screen, this interactive floor will allow kids to be immersed in the Toy Box.”

Kids can get archery lessons from Merida and participate in group activities like building a racetrack around the club and getting lessons on how to draw Disney Infinity characters.

The Oceaneer Club isn’t the only area of the ship that saw improvements. Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats serves handmade gelato and ice cream, candy and novelty treats. The decor is themed to the Sugar Rush race car game in Wreck-It Ralph, including a “race track and checkerboard patterned floor, gas pump-style gumball dispensers, Vanellope’s race car and King Candy’s throne.” Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats is located on Deck 11 and can be accessed through Cabana’s or from the pool deck.

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique from the parks is now on the Disney Dream, Deck 5 midship. Kids ages 3 to 12 can transform into a princess or knight; on pirate night, the salon becomes The Pirates League for full pirate makeovers.

In the adult area on Deck 13 forward, a Satellite Falls water feature has been added, just like on the Disney Fantasy. This is a “circular splash pool with benches and a gently falling rain curtain.” The area also provides loungers for sun bathing or a canopy for those who wish to relax in the shade.

Disney Dream Overview / Planning Tools
The maiden voyage for the Disney Dream was January 26, 2011. This ship is 40% larger than the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic, with two additional decks and 1,250 staterooms. Each Inside stateroom has a "virtual" porthole showing rolling waves and Disney characters swimming by all in HD. One of the most popular features is the first ever water roller coaster at sea - the Aqua Duck is 250 yards of transparent tubing that sends guests soaring over the top decks and at one point - over the ocean!

The Disney Dream offers the latest designs in contemporary staterooms, elegant restaurants, and fabulous entertainment.  In addition to the kids' clubs, there are nightclubs and lounges, as well as theaters for movies and live shows. Reserve your place today!

Disney Dream Staterooms:

These staterooms are designed especially for the needs of families. An exciting new feature for inside staterooms is the addition of virtual portholes!  These High Definition "portholes" have a 24-hour view of the ocean brought to you by a Hi-Def camera mounted outside the ship.  Look closely - you may even see some of your favorite Disney characters float by!

Popular features from the other two ships are also available, like private verandahs, portholes with built-in seating and elegant Art Deco decor.
