Palma de Mallorca, Spain Shore Excursions



The following apply to all shore excursions:
-Guests are encouraged to bring credit cards and currency to purchase optional extras such as souvenirs.
-You should never feel that gratuities are expected from you. However, it is customary to leave a gratuity in recognition of service at restaurants, taxis, and for exceptional excursion guides and drivers. It is always up to you as to what you feel is appropriate.

Beach Transfer (4.5 - 5 hours)
Board a motor coach and drive by the Spanish Royal Family summer residence. Enjoy the views of the South Coast on the way to Palmanova Beach, approximately 30 minutes away.
Relax at Palmanova golden sand beach. Note: Beaches are public. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available for rent directly at the beach from local establishments, first come, first serve at an approximate cost of 12 Euros (in currency).
Stroll around the area, shop or just chill out in one of the seaside restaurants and cafés. Note: Food and beverage items are available for purchase at an additional cost.
Reboard your transportation and travel back to the pier.
-Topless bathing may be observed.
-Wheelchairs need to be standard size and collapsible; no electric wheelchairs permitted. Guests must be able to board and disembark the motor coach on their own.
-This excursion is stroller accessible. However, some portions of the tour may require Guests to fold accompanying strollers. In addition, lightweight strollers are recommended.
-Guests are encouraged to wear swimming attire under clothing and bring a towel if wishing to swim.

Bike Ride Through Palma de Mallorca (3.5 - 4 hours)
Meet your guide at the pier to receive instructions and a short security briefing.
Familiarize yourself with your bike before starting the tour. Follow the seafront until you reach Park de la Mar.
Cycle alongside the ancient city walls and admire the Gothic church of San Francisco, Santa Eulalia and the magnificent Cathedral. Enjoy approximately 20 minutes of free time in front of the Cathedral to explore it independently.
Stop at the main sights where your guide will explain the highlights of their history.
Enjoy an approximate 25-minute coffee/refreshment break at Plaza Mayor before returning to the pier along La Rambla and Paseo Maritimo.
-Wheelchairs (collapsible or electric) are not permitted. Tour operators will deny participation to Guests arriving in wheelchairs or electric scooters.
-For safety reasons, expectant mothers, guests with heart or respiratory conditions and those with back/neck injuries cannot participate.
-Guests should be comfortable using handbrakes and be confident using a bicycle. Helmets will be provided and are compulsory.
-This excursion includes 20 minutes of free time at the Cathedral and 25 minutes at Plaza Mayor for monument visit or refreshment stop.
-Tour duration times are estimated and may vary considerably due to circumstances such as traffic or overcrowding of venues.
-Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and clothing and to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, additional clothing, hats, cameras and backpacks.
-Guests–including children–wishing to enter the church must ensure that shoulders and knees remain covered. Guests can wear shorts that reach below the knee and tank tops, as long as they bring a sweater or scarf to wrap around their shoulders.
-Due to the extremely limited availability of this excursion, Guests are encouraged to book early.

Drach Caves & Porto Cristo (4.5 - 5 hours)
Take an approximate 60–minute drive inland to the Drach Caves, located on the outskirts of the quiet coastal village of Porto Cristo. Note: This tour involves a total of approximately 240 steps to manage and 0.5 miles walking over slippery surfaces.
Explore the depths of the Caves and admire the spectacular stalactites and stalagmites that decorate this natural wonder. Listen to a classical music concert held at the underground lake, provided by musicians that float on boats along the lake. Note: Photo and video cameras are not permitted inside the caves.
Board your bus and take a 15-minute drive to Porto Cristo.
Stroll around the fishermen village at your own pace for approximately 30 minutes of free time.
On the way back to the pier, sit back, relax and admire the inland scenery.
-Wheelchairs (collapsible or electric) are not permitted. Tour operators will deny participation to guests arriving in wheelchairs or electric scooters.
-This tour is not accessible for strollers.
-This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility and for those who suffer claustrophobia. This tour involves a total of approximately 240 steps to manage and 0.5 miles walking over slippery surfaces. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes.
-Please note that the temperature inside the caves decreases considerably. It is recommended to take additional clothing.

Florianapolis Wine Cellar (4 - 4.5 hours)
Depart from the pier and relax during a panoramic drive along the Paseo Maritimo Palma’s main sites.
Continue with an approximate 45-minute drive to the outskirts of Es Capdellà, a cozy mountain village where the Florianápolis Wine Cellar is located. Florianápolis Wine Cellar, also known as Bodegas Santa Catarina, was founded in 1984 by Stellan Lundquist. The most striking features of the Bodega are the fantastic sandstone ‘caves’, under the mountains, where top quality wines mature in oak barrels. French grapes, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay, are grown here and the latest ecological techniques are used to produce more than ½ million bottles per year. The soft Mediterranean breezes create a unique microclimate in the Tramuntana Mountains that has an effect on the French grape varieties and contributes to the good quality of Mallorcan wines.
Sample 3 varieties of wine produced at the cellar with a tasting of local products (bread, olive oil, cheese, olives).
Reboard your motorcoach and start the journey back, stopping at the fishermen village of Andratx for an approximate 30-minute stroll, before continuing back to the pier.

Marine Turtle Recovery Hospital and Sea Life (4 - 4.5 hours)
Board a motor coach and travel approximately 30 minutes to Marineland, one of Spain’s most awarded marine parks, due to its animal exhibits, research work and species protection.
Meet a member of staff who will brief you on the activities scheduled during the day.
Make your way to the interactive classroom, where an animal trainer will hand out an exercise book detailing the habits, behavior and routines of the marine turtles and the endemic species of the “Ferreret,” a little toad that can only be found in the Tramuntana Mountains in Mallorca. Learn about the turtles' world, including the different species found in the island, the reason why turtles get stuck in the beach, their life in captivity and in the wild, and many other fun facts during the approximate 45-minute presentation.
Follow with an approximate 45–minute visit to the “Marine Turtle Recovery Hospital” and have access to areas that are not open to the general public, but are made available exclusively to Disney Cruise Line Guests. Visit the first-aid room, where the turtles heal from their wounds. The recovery area, equipped with individual tanks (small children might have to be lifted to be able to view inside the tanks) where the turtles live until they are cured and ready to be transferred to a bigger pool. And the pond, where the turtles practice swimming before being returned to the sea.
Listen to a wonderful story of friendship between a fisherman and a dolphin who fight together against marine pollution. Children will be given a printed version of the tale to take home.
Enjoy approximately one-hour of free time to enjoy the other animal exhibits, such as sea lions, penguins, sharks, colorful birds and dolphins. Children may want to play at the pirate-themed shallow pool and wet play area.
Re-board a motor coach and drive back to the pier.

-Guests wishing to enter the wet play area should wear swim attire underneath their clothing and bring a change of clothes.

Market at Llucmajor (4 - 4.5 hours)
Drive inland for approximately 40 minutes to get to Llucmajor village, a popular meeting place for locals.
Make your way across the market, where you will have the opportunity to sample home-made specialties. Indulge in a lavish breakfast at the main square cafés (at an additional cost) or just observe the festive atmosphere.
Find almost anything you can think of, from artisan works to leather goods and fresh organic food, as you stroll the streets during approximate 2 hours of free time to explore.
Return to your bus and travel back to the pier.
-Wheelchairs need to be standard size and collapsible; no electric wheelchairs/scooters permitted. Guests must be able to board and disembark the motor coach on their own. In addition, guests may not remain on the bus during stops.
-This excursion is stroller accessible. However, some portions of the tour may require Guests to fold accompanying strollers. Lightweight strollers are recommended.
-Food and beverage are not included but may be purchased on your own.
-The street market only accepts cash.

Palma By Private Vehicle (4 or 8 hours)
Embark on an unforgettable excursion throughout the island of Palma de Mallorca via private vehicle and experience the freedom of following your own itinerary at your own pace. Note: Only one ticket (person) per vehicle should be booked.

Palma City Tour (4 - 4.5 hours)
Embark on a 15–minute bus drive (approximate) towards the Bellver Castle, located on a raised plateau, about 365 feet above sea level.
Enjoy the magnificent views and a guided visit of the Castle and its History Museum.
Head to the Cathedral, after an approximate 20-minute bus transfer and approximate 10-minute stroll from the bus parking area.
Visit the interior of La Seu (local name for the Cathedral) which was built on the site of a pre-existing mosque. The bell tower still remains unfinished to this day. Admire the impressive stained-glass windows and the works of Gaudi.
Follow your guide on a 20–minute (approximate) walking tour through the narrow streets of the ancient town.
Stop at a local café, to enjoy a homemade ensaimada (local pastry) and homemade ice cream, included in your tour.

Take an approximate 45–minute drive through the picturesque countryside of Sierra de Tramuntana, the Island’s mountain range.
Upon arrival, walk approximately 15 minutes to the town center to enjoy a guided visit of Sóller, which has long been popular summer retreat for writers and artists who are attracted by the peace, the light, and the way of life of this verdant valley.
Explore the town of Sóller on your own, with free time for a monument visit, shopping or just relaxing at any of the main square cafés.
Enjoy a memorable 50–minute ride (approximate) through the lovely countryside in an old train. Note: There are no toilet facilities on board the train.

Valldemossa, Deia & Soller (8 - 8.5 hours)
Depart from the pier and relax during a panoramic drive of Palma’s main sites.
Drive through pine forest landscapes, and almond and olive groves for approximately 45 minutes until you get to Valldemossa.
Arrive at Valldemossa and learn the history of the village on a walking tour.
Enjoy approximately one hour of free time to explore, shop or just a stroll around the "fairy tale" looking streets.
Have lunch at a local restaurant and savor the specialties.
Travel approximately 20 minutes to Na Foradada for a great photo opportunity and outside visit of Son Marroig, an old mansion that once belonged to the Archduke Luis Salvador of Austria.
Reboard your bus and travel through the village of Deià , once home to Robert Graves, on the way to Sóller.
Learn the history and specialties of this verdant valley while you enjoy some free time (approx. 45 minutes) to explore Sóller.
