Vancouver, Canada Shore Excursions
Grouse Mountain & Capilano Suspension Bridge – Pre & Post Stay Only (6-6.5 Hours)
From your Disney Cruise Line-offered hotel, you'll board your air-conditioned transportation and head into the bustling centre of Vancouver for an approximate 75-minute scenic drive through one of North America's largest Chinatown districts and a gorgeous park system right in the downtown area.
Head into Gastown, an area of town that blends old world charm as well as new and has become one of the local hotspots in the city. Be sure to watch out for the Steam Clock!
On our way to Capilano Suspension Bridge, pass through Stanley Park, which borders the main area of downtown Vancouver.
Continue to Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park for a treetop adventure during an approximate 2-hour visit. The current suspension bridge crosses a deep gorge of the Capilano River and is 450 feet long. Designed for walking use only, the bridge will sway as you head across towards the far side! Once across you will follow a progressive series of platforms that wind their way amongst the primordial forest of British Columbia. Keep an eye out for various species of birds and other wildlife that live in the woods surrounding the trails.
After enjoying the Capilano Bridge and Park to your heart's content, head to Grouse Mountain. Here you will step onboard the world-famous Skyride that wisks you to the top of Grouse Mountain. Enroute high above the towering Douglas Firs, you have a spectacular view of Vancouver, the Pacific Ocean and the gulf islands. While on top of the mountain you will have an opportunity to partake in a multitude of adventures, such as the theatre in the Sky, the Lumberjack show, wildlife refuge or an eco walk. The options are limitless and included in your tour and approximate 2-hour visit.
Reboard your transportation and head back down the mountain to the city, enjoying a visit to the Totem Poles in Stanley Park during a 15-minute photo stop. Stanley Park, which is more than 10% larger that Central Park in New York City, still contains sections of old growth forests that are hundreds of years old. Interspersed through the park are wonderful examples of First Nations Totem poles. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, with a 5.5 mile seawall, this is one of the pre-imminent city parks in all of North America.
