Attractions and Strategies Board, Orlando Hotels & Attractions Board
Which Disney parks around the world
have you visited: Walt Disney World
Date of first Disney Trip: First
trip was in 1971, next wasn't until 1990
# of Disney Trips: 16 or so!
First Disney Attraction and reaction
to it: In 1990, the first attraction I visited
was Spaceship Earth. I was amazed by the detail and
how beautifully the story was told, visually.
Fav. Park and why: Magic Kingdom
is my favorite for the nostalgia and the Mountains,
Epcot for the cultural influence, and AK for the serenity.
You didn't really think I'd choose just one, did you?
Fav. Attraction and why: Splash
Mountain, because my husband and I watched as it was
being built and couldn't wait to try it out. When
we came back after it opened though, we had our dear
son in the works and I couldn't ride it. So the anticipation
made it that much more exciting the first time we
rode it. BTMRR is another favorite because of the
way it makes my son laugh.
Fav. Show and why: Lion King
at AK. The Tumble Monkeys look like they're having
as much fun being there as we are.
Fav. Resort and why: Animal Kingdom
Lodge. I just love the energy the animals generate
around the Lodge. Feels so earthy and connected.
Fav. Restaurant and why: Boma
at AKL. Unique, exciting food in a beautiful atmosphere.
And what's not to love about All You Can Eat Zebra
Domes?
Fav. Snack at WDW: The Mickey
Bar goes without saying, so I'll say Kaki Gori. It's
not overly sweet, and it's so refreshing on a hot
day.
Fav. Disney Tip: Slow down long
enough for the Magic to catch up with you. It's amazing
what you see when you take the time to be in the moment
rather than rushing from one thing to the next. And
never underestimate the power of a mid-day pool break.
Fav. Disney Magical Moment/ Most
Memorable Experience: We've had so many magical,
memorable moments but one of my fondest was after
a very long day at the Magic Kingdom. Peter Pan was
our last attraction of the day and we knew we were
pushing it with a tired 3 year old. As we exited our
ship he grabbed onto the bar and began screaming "We
have to fly to Neverland! We have to fly to Neverland!"
I knew just how he felt, not wanting to leave all
the magic. We pried his fingers loose and reassured
him that tomorrow was a new day. I still feel that
way, not wanting to leave Neverland, each time our
trip comes to an end.
Words of Wisdom: The DIS was
the very first place I ever found on the internet
and it's given me so many wonderful memories. The
advice from other Disney lovers has made my family's
vacation time even more magical, and I'm glad to be
a part of such an amazing group of people. I hope
I can give back in some small measure all that the
DIS has given me.
