Screen name: SueM in MN
Email: [email protected]
Name: Sue
Location: Blaine, MN (a northern suburb of Minneapolis)
Occupation: RN at a Rehabilitation hospital
DIS Role(s): disABILITIES Board Moderator
Which Disney parks around the world have you visited: Disneyland and Disney World
Date of first Disney Trip: 1961
# of Disney Trips: more than 20
First Disney Attraction and reaction to it: The thing I remember most from my first trip to DL was the Monsanto House of the Future. I wanted one really bad (even a dollhouse version).
Fav. Park and why: Epcot, there's a lot going on, but the pace can be slow and relaxed.
Fav. Attraction and why: Closed Attraction: Horizons, because it was hopeful for the future. Open Attraction: Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin because I need to beat the Evil Emperor Zorg
Fav. Show and why: Lion King at AK. A very
high energy show with lots for everyone.
Fav. Resort and why: Old Key West because we are
Disney Vacation Club members there. Also it's beautiful, homey and quiet.
Fav. Restuarant and why: Sci-Fi Drive in. The food wasn't great, but the atmosphere is.
Fav. Snack at WDW: frozen chocolate covered bananas
Fav. Disney Tip: When the park is closing after the parade, Illuminations, etc., don't rush out right away. Let the crowd clear for 10-15 minutes and you will have a much more pleasant time leaving.
Fav. Disney Magical Moment/ Most Memorable Experience: My oldest daughter at age 4 worrying that Minnie was working too hard cooking and serving our character breakfast and would be too tired for the parade.
Words of Wisdom: My family includes a dd who is multiply disabled and uses a wheelchair. My involvement with the DIS boards started because someone I knew asked "Where does your dd stay when you go to WDW?". She assumed we didn't take our daughter and she had never brought her disabled child to WDW when their family went. I was looking for a place where I could share the "we did it, you can do it too" message and this was the place!
