CHRISTMAS PARADE TAPING 2008

DECEMBER 5 & 6

While it has not been confirmed by Disney, it appears the annual Christmas Parade taping will be scheduled on December 5 & 6.

This is a lengthy process. The parade/shows are often stopped and restarted until they have the take that they need for the Christmas broadcast.

Main Street will be crazy crowded. You may want to skip the Magic Kingdom until later in the day.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2008
What happens when you combine one 30,000 pound, 65 foot tree, one 40 foot star, 5500 twinkling lights, 430 feet of garland, 325 ornaments, 275 feet of strung popcorn, 400 flickering candles, 135 candy canes, 100 gingerbread cookies and the Disney Characters? Why you have the perfect recipe for Christmas at the Magic Kingdom!

Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade  will feature costumes and floats themed to Family and Friends: A Winter Wonderland, Christmas Sweets, A North Pole Christmastime with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and Fairytale Christmastime.

The parade will feature a new soundtrack with the 'Once Upon a Christmastime' song written for this holiday event.

CHRISTMAS PARADE SCHEDULE:

December 20 through 31, 2008

There will also be special holiday themed entertainment. Even the Cast Member join in the festivities with red and white scarves snugly wrapped around their necks and an extra big holiday smile waiting to greet you!

Santa Claus will be meeting and greeting Magic Kingdom guests from 10:00am - 6:00pm at the Tour Guide Gardens next to City Hall.

You can also visit Santa during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party until he's needed for his very important role in the parade.

While the 2008 schedule has not been released, Santa should be there starting December 1 (or earlier) thru Christmas Eve





Epcot Christmas

November 28 - December 30, 2008


Lights of Winter at Epcot ChristmasAt Epcot, you can enjoy Holidays around the World. Bedecked with all the holiday trimmings, this theme park is filled with enchantment. The center walkway that links Future World and the World Showcase is spanned by the "Lights of Winter." As evening descends, these lights transform into a dazzling musical display that twinkle and "dance" to inspirational holiday music. For an added treat, watch as the fountain performs in step with this glistening interlude.

There's a spectacular Christmas tree with decorations that pay homage to all of the countries that comprise the World Showcase. Every evening, you can join Mickey and friends for the nightly tree-lighting ceremony. The approximate length of this ceremony is 10 minutes.

Each country has it's own special theme that highlights it's culture. Storytellers will delight you with tales of their heritage and how the holidays are celebrated in their homeland. It's a unique opportunity to learn more about the world in which we live.

There's nothing that's more inspirational than the nightly Candlelight Processional. This beautiful show evokes the true meaning of the holidays and is not to be missed.

Illuminations is enhanced for the Holidays. "Let There Be Peace On Earth" with narration by Walter Cronkite will be the finale of this amazing nightly show.


 Animal Kingdom
Mickey’s Jingle Jungle ExpeditionsYou can "DAK" The Halls at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. There's a special animal themed tree that's displayed outside the entrance. Once inside, you'll want to visit Camp Minnie-Mickey. Here you'll find trees trimmed with a delightful Disney character theme. Of course, a visit to the "Adirondacks" means that there will be a hint of frost in the air. Look for snow topped light poles that are bedecked with garland.

A visit to Santa takes on a new twist when you head to Santa Goofy’s Wild Wonderland. Complete with red suit and white beard, Goofy is ready for a unique holiday picture.

Live entertainers complete the festive mood found at the Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Mickey's Jingle Jungle Expeditions - A lively holiday parade will be performed. Join Mickey and his Savannah friends as they as they celebrate the season safari style:

If you plan on dining at Donald's Breakfastosaurus, you'll find Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto dressed in holiday finery.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights
November 28, 2008 and runs through January 4, 2009

Osborne Lights Photos at MGM StudiosYou'll find incredible Osborne light displays at the "Streets of America" (formerly New York Street.) Each evening, millions of twinkling bulbs are used to create a dazzling spectacle. Virtually every surface is illuminated. with angels flying overhead and "snow" falling, it's an experience that fills visitors with holiday cheer. To enhance this holiday tradition, 3-D glasses are distributed which provide a unique perspective of this amazing attraction.

Elsewhere, you can expect to find the streets of Hollywood Studios lined with garland, lights and wreaths. There's a charming old-fashioned feel to the decor that will bring back memories of holiday gatherings gone by.
