If you are heading in the Disney Parks on either coast this month, you’ll find some special items on the menus celebrating fall and the Thanksgiving holiday at both Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort.
For a special Thanksgiving lunch or dinner in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, head to Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Cafe and Inn where they’ll be serving turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce and gravy.
On Thanksgiving, Animal Kingdom‘s Satu’li Canteen will feature wood-grilled roasted turkey breast with gravy, apple and sage stuffing, green beans, orange marmalade glazed sweet potatoes with candied pecans, mashed potatoes and cranberry boba pearls. There will even be a kids-sized portion available! For dessert, try the pumpkin cheesecake mousse.
At Disneyland Park, visit the French Market for slow-roasted turkey breast with apricot stuffing, market mashed potatoes, home-style gravy, seasonal vegetables and cranberry relish. Add a 5-inch pumpkin pie for dessert.
All of these special Thanksgiving meals at both Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort will only be available on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd.
Throughout the month of November in the Magic Kingdom, you’ll find a barbecue pulled pork and coleslaw dog at Casey’s Corner and a Thanksgiving flatbread with turkey and all the fixings at Pinocchio’s Village Haus. Plus, Cool Ship has now started offering sushi, including a spicy roll, a California roll and an edamame salad.
At Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs, try the pumpkin bread pudding, served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The Chef has also added some special items to the permanent menu, such as Turkey Meatloaf with vidalia ketchup, a Grilled Corn Succotash, and a Cedar Key Island Hotel’s Heart of Palm Salad.
The original recipe for the classic salad was created by Bessie Gibbs, the owner of the hotel and includes a dressing made with mayonnaise, peanut butter and vanilla ice cream, plus green food coloring. Chef Smith has added strawberries and melons, as a salute to regional farmers.
Thor: Ragnarok is now in theaters and Award Wieners in California Adventure is celebrating the film with a special Thunder Dog, that includes an all-beef hot dog on a black bun with apple slaw, beet and onion slaw, mustard crema and green onions. For dessert, try the Arena Funnel Cake Fries, complete with mango topping, whipped cream and chile-lime sugar. Wash it down with the Lightning Pop, featuring Barq’s Red Cream Soda Slush and a Thor Hammer Glow Cube.
