Disney Junior has just announced that an animated series based on the wildly popular, NY Times bestselling children’s book series, Fancy Nancy, will be premiering on Disney Junior and on the DisneyNOW app this summer!
The Fancy Nancy series of books has over 100 titles that have been translated into 20 languages, with more than 30 million books sold.
Alyson Hannigan – above, left; (How I Met Your Mother) and Rob Riggle – above, middle; (Modern Family) have both signed on to voice Nancy’s parents, Clair and Doug Clancy.
Mia Sinclair Jenness, above, right; a 12-year-old Broadway actress who starred in Matilda is set to voice the title role of Nancy, “a lovable young girl whose zest and enthusiasm for all that is fantastic transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary.”
Newcomer Spencer Moss voice the role of Nancy’s younger sister, Jo Jo.
“Based on the New York Times best-selling books by Jane O’Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser, the animated family comedy centers on 6-year-old Nancy, a girl who likes to be fancy in everything from her advanced vocabulary to her creative, elaborate attire. A line of products including dolls, role-play items, accessories, and apparel surrounding Fancy Nancy will be revealed at the New York Toy Fair this weekend.
