This weekend, the Disney Wonder became the first cruise ship to pass through the Panama Canal using a new set of locks. The new path has doubled the capacity and allowed for larger ships to travel the canal.
The Wonder is on a 14-night voyage from the Port Canaveral, Florida to San Diego, California, for a few Baja Mexico sailings before heading to to Vancouver, British Columbia and a summer full of Alaska sailings.
From the Atlantic, the Wonder passed through the new Agua Clara Locks, then traveled south through Gatun Lake and the Culebra Cut, and finally through the new Cocoli Locks and under the Bridge of Americas to the Pacific.
The Wonder will begin her journey back to the East Coast on October 27th and will head to Galveston, Texas.
