Disney’s princesses aren’t the only ones getting some re-release treatment; The Lion King is currently delighting fans again as it plays in select AMC theaters starting today.
Disney just announced the “Dream Big, Princess” event, where throughout September and October AMC Theaters will re-show some of Disney’s best princess-driven films, along with special showings at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre in L.A. Before that happens, starting today in fact, Simba will be getting the same attention.
As of August 4th, The Lion King will be shown at participating AMC theaters for a limited time, with select theaters(including the El Capitan) hosting sing-along viewings.
El Capitan Theatre manager Ed Collins shared some excitement for the event, saying in a statement,
“Disney created an instant classic with the original release of The Lion King in 1994 and its popularity has never wavered. We are thrilled to offer a whole new way to enjoy this beloved Disney film at The El Capitan Theatre. Who can resist singing along to such unforgettable songs as ‘Hakuna Matata,’ ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ and ‘Circle of Life’?”
It is doubtful many Disney animation fans would disagree with that sentiment. Tickets and theater locations are available online from AMC.
