Update (03/12/13): The Orange County Sheriff's Office announced the boy in the following story, Anthony Johnson, died Tuesday morning, March 12.

Original Story:
A 13-year-old boy nearly drowned in one of the swimming pools at Disney's Pop Century this weekend and is in critical condition. The boy, whose identity has not been released, is from Missouri and has been vacationing at Walt Disney World with his family.

On Sunday, March 10, around 9:30 pm, he and his cousins had been playing and jumping into the water. At one point, his family realized they hadn't seen him for several minutes and his cousin spotted him under the water. His cousin pulled him out and the boy's father began CPR while other guests called 911. Paramedics from Reedy Creek Fire Rescue Department arrived and transported him to Celebration Hospital. Lifeguards are in place at the pool from 10:00am through 8:00pm.

Disney officials released a statement: "Our concern is for the young man and his family. We've reached out to the family to offer our assistance and support."
