Changes to Disney's FastPass+, including park hopping, announced
Apr 2, 2014
Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, has just posted an article on the Disney Parks Blog regarding MyMagic+. After discussing how positive he believes guests' reactions have been thus far, he announces that day guests are now able to use My Disney Experience to book FastPass+ experiences. We had this information up on our site March 27, so this isn't new news, but what he said next is.
Staggs said that the MyMagic+ team is currently working to allow guests to use more than just three FastPass+ in one day, and not just at one park. Once guests have used their original three FastPass+ reservations, they will be able to book a fourth at the kiosks in the park. Once that is gone, they can reserve another, and continue on like that as long as time allows that day. One potential downside could occur if a guest has a late FastPass+ booked, such as reserved viewing for fireworks or a nighttime parade. Because the guest's third reservation for the reserved viewing wouldn't be until later at night, there may be no more available FastPass+ times once that evening event has concluded.
They are also working to add park hopping to the service, though he doesn't explain exactly how that will work. Will the three original FastPass+ have to be used in the same park before you hop or will you be able to hop as you choose? Regardless of the specific details, it's definitely a step in the right direction to making FastPass+ more user-friendly so guests can make the most of their Walt Disney World vacations.
