Disney proposes new contract for part-time employees
Aug 16, 2014
After reaching a contract agreement earlier this month with full-time employees, Walt Disney World is now working through negotiations with the 12,000 part-time employees. The Services Trades Council, which represents six of Disney's largest unions, will vote on the proposed agreement.
The proposed contract offers the same raise in pay as the one accepted by the full-time staff. Starting pay would be $9 (currently it is $8.03) and would go up to $9.50 in 2015 and $10 in 2016. Once employees reach two years of service and work at least 1,250 hours per year, they would also receive two paid days off.
A voting date has not yet been set.
