Disney's "next generation experience" still a mystery
by Leah ZanollaJan 17, 2010
Disney is still using the vague term "next generation experience" to keep a new technology initiative a secret. In December, reports of a new vice president of next generation experiences came out. Yesterday a few more details were released. Former Disney executives spoke with the Orlando Sentinel about the $1 billion project that is supposed to "enhance visitor's theme park experiences." They say that the theme park division is in charge of the project and it will "use wireless communication technology to tailor theme park offerings to the likes of individual visitors."
Nick Franklin is heading up the project. Franklin is head of global business and real-estate development for the theme park division, but has been given a new title of executive vice president of next generation experience.
