The Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida is enjoying newly renovated and expanded facilities made possible the the Disney company.
The project took three years to complete. The new club is 25000 square feet, double the size of the old facility. This expansion enables the Boys and Girls Club to add 200 youths to its programs.
The club, located in Pine Hills, will be named after its benefactor, Walt Disney World. The Boys and Girls clubs have a long history with the company. In 1963, Walt Disney served as both an honorary chairman and club spokesman.
Gary Cain, president of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida stated that this facility allows them "To provide a place of inspiration, hope...to provide a place where there are great role models that you can take a provide good stuff everyday that builds, trains and develops the mind and the spirit is very, very important."
