Disneyland Hotel remodel scheduled
by Leah ZanollaJun 17, 2009
Disneyland President Ed Grier has announced that major renovations to the Disneyland Hotel will begin in August 2009. Improvements to guest rooms will include a carved headboard featuring Sleeping Beauty Castle with fiber optic fireworks over the skyline. Black and white art will be added, as well as new flat screen TVs and other updated appliances. The 970-room hotel will also receive upgrades to the plumbing, electrical and heating and air conditioning systems. The Disneyland Hotel was built in 1955 and includes three towers. Each tower will be renovated separately, as the hotel will remain open during construction. The outside of the facility will also get a facelift: the current sliding doors will be replaced by energy-efficient windows made of a sky-blue reflective glass.
