Family sues Disney when woman dies from complications after a fall
Dec 6, 2013

Disney is being sued by the family of a woman who died of complications from a broken leg she suffered on the Jungle Cruise at the Magic Kingdom. Katherine Jo-Ann Baliton, of Broward County, visited the attraction on March 23, 2012 and fell as she tried to board the boat while holding her 3-year-old son. She fractured her left leg and had surgery for the injury on April 4. She died on April 7, 2012 as a result of a blood clot in her leg.

Her family blames Walt Disney World's cast members for not keeping her safe while entering the boat. They are suing for her medical and funeral expenses, loss of job earnings, and mental pain and suffering for her husband.
