Randy Garfield, Disney marketing executive, to retire

Randy Garfield, president of the Walt Disney Travel Company, will be retiring in April after a 20-year career with Disney. As part of his position, Garfield is responsible for sales and distribution marketing for Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and Disney Vacation Club. He heads up the Disney Institute, Disney Event Group, central reservations and special event/group sales for the Resorts, and works with Disney's Sports Enterprises. He was previously executive vice president of worldwide sales and travel operations for Disney Destinations.
Before beginning his career at Disney, he worked for TWA, Royal Viking Line and Universal Studios. He was honored in 2012 by Travel Weekly with a Lifetime Achievement Award and has been a member of the U.S. Travel Association board of directors for over 25 years; he was the national chair in 1997. In November, the Association inducted him into the U.S. Travel Hall of Leaders.
He will continue his work with U.S. Travel, as well as Brand USA, and remain on the board of the Rocky Mountaineer rail tour company.
