Spas at Walt Disney World get full makeover
Nov 16, 2012
Spas on Walt Disney World property are undergoing an ownership change. The two full-service spas are located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and have been owned and operated by Niki Bryan Spa. The spa at the Grand Floridian is set to reopen December 17 after a year-long rehab and is now owned and operated by Disney. Saratoga Springs' spa will close January 16, the day Disney takes over operation of all spas, salons and fitness centers, and will be closed until summer for its rehab.
Some of the updates to "Senses - A Disney Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort" include a redesign so that it matches the turn-of-the-century theme of the resort, but plenty of modern touches have been added as well.
Step through a Victorian-style archway into a spacious lobby decorated with a Florida landscape mural. The Whirlpool rooms are covered in glass mosaic tile, colored lighting and feature orchestral music matched to each treatment.
The Disney Parks Blog has a list of treatments available: "watertherapy, sugar exfoliation body treatment, rejuvenating citrus facial, a restorative hand and foot ritual with Chinese Jasmine oils, plus a Magical Manicure or Princess Pedicure for youngsters. Lounges, whirlpools, and treatment rooms all provide rejuvenation through the healing nature of Florida citrus and botanicals."
There are 15 treatment rooms that can be booked by calling 407-WDW-SPAS.
