A Walt Disney World
cast member was robbed Thursday, March 27, in a Disney employee parking lot. The man's cellphone was stolen at gunpoint around 9:50pm. He told police "that one of the robbers pointed a long-barreled pistol with a scope" at him. Police have arrested two teenagers that are linked with this robbery, as well as a second robbery that took place on Friday, March 28, at 1:35 am. The second incident was at Windermere Cay apartments north of Disney; two men saying they had a gun stole a cell phone.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department arrested a 16-year-old boy and his 17-year-old uncle in connection with these robberies. The 16-year-old's mother brought him and one of the stolen cell phones to the police after the two boys told her they had used a purple toy gun to commit several robberies. The boy had the toy gun on him at the time and deputies say he is the person who pointed the gun in the Disney parking lot. Police are working to connect the boys with other area robberies.
