Zagat has named Disney's Victoria & Albert's in a list of 15 U.S. restaurants that "embody the essence of their city." Located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the restaurant has been honored many times as one of the top dining establishments in the area.
Below is a summary of opinions from Zagat's readers:
"A 'once-in-a-lifetime experience,' this Grand Floridian 'celebration destination' earns 'superlatives all around,' from chef Scott Hunnel's 'exquisite,' 'beautifully presented' New American prix fixes to 'impeccable' service -- and an 'uber-romantic, high-end' setting where 'elegance rules' (jackets are required for men); you may 'need to hock one of your kids' to pay, but those 'trying to impress' say there's 'no finer place.'"
Other accolades for Victoria & Albert's include being named a 2013 James Beard award semifinalist for outstanding service, receiving the AAA Five Diamond award 13 times, and receiving the Forbes Travel Guide four-star rating for 22 years.
Chef Scott Hunnel is well known in the food industry and was also a 2013 James Beard semifinalist in the Best Chef South category. The Orlando Sentinel's Food Critic, Heather McPherson, says, "Hunnel's creative genius, along with one of the great chef's table experiences in Central Florida, an impeccable service staff and an exemplary food and beverage pairing program, has made V&A a crown jewel in the local dining scene."
