Disney is bringing back hand-drawn Mickey Mouse cartoons, in the form of 19 new shorts that will air on the Disney Channel and Disney.com. The cartoons will be animated in 2-D, which gives them a delightfully retro look. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto will star in the new shorts; the first stars Mickey, Minnie and Daisy in Paris. Debuting officially June 28, the first 3-minute, 30-second short can be previewed on Disney.com. The targeted audience is children ages 6-14, but after viewing the first episode, it's clear that adult Disney fans will enjoy these as well. In "Croissant de Triomphe," Minnie runs a Parisian cafe and runs out of croissants. Mickey picks up the pastries from Daisy’s bakery and faces a series a mishaps as he races across town on his moped to get the delivery to Minnie in time.

Gary Marsh, president of Disney Channels Worldwide, said, "By bringing Mickey's comedic adventures to life with vitality, humor, inventiveness and charm, the entire Disney Television Animation team of artists, animators and directors have worked to capture the essence of what Walt Disney himself created 85 years ago."
