Disney set to release a new Star Wars film every year after 2015
Apr 18, 2013

At CinemaCon this week, Disney announced the release schedule for the upcoming Star Wars movies - one a year beginning in summer 2015. The first to be released will be the already-announced Episode VII. According to Entertainment Weekly, "The plan is to release a standalone spinoff the following year - probably one of the projects focusing on Boba Fett or Young Han Solo - and alternate between numerals and spinoffs from there." The current plans call for the original series to be continued with Episodes VII, VIII and IX.

No one knows yet what names, both directors and actors, have been attached to the spinoff films; J.J. Abrams will direct Episode VII.
