Harrison Ford breaks ankle on set of new Star Wars film
Jun 16, 2014
Harrison Ford, who is currently shooting Star Wars: Episode VII in the U.K., has broken his ankle while filming. On Thursday, June 12, Ford, 71, was injured, reportedly by a Millennium Falcon door falling on him. It is unclear if he remains in the hospital, but his wife, Calista Flockhart, has flown to England to be with him. His son, Ben Ford, spoke with Access Hollywood and told them that the injury may require a plate and screws to be installed.
Filming is continuing, though Disney hasn’t yet decided if the shooting schedule will need to be adjusted or if Ford will need to be shot waist-up. To delay production while Ford recovers would be a serious financial setback for the film.
The film premieres December 18, 2015.
