The Disney Channel has announced the date for their Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars episode - Saturday, July 26 at 9:00pm. Hollywood Reporter describes the setting as "a few summers ago in a galaxy far, far away, the special finds Phineas and Ferb in a parallel universe during Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope."

According to TVGuide.com, Phineas and Ferb will spend the summer living next door to Luke Skywalker on Tatooine and find the plans for blowing up the Death Star. Of course, problems ensue as "Darth Enshmirtz" creates a "Sith-inator" to blow up the Rebellion, Agent P finds himself stuck in carbonite, and Ferb becomes an evil Sith.

Star Wars fans will see several of their favorite characters in the show - Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2. Viewers may recognize a few of the voice actors; Simon Pegg will portray C-3PO and Candace's commanding officer and Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman of Mythbusters will be members of the Empire. Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, creators of the series, will make a brief appearance.

Eric Coleman, Senior Vice President Original Series at Disney Television Animation, said, "Dan and Swampy have put their unique spin on the iconic events in A New Hope, and have created fun ways for the characters to interact within the Star Wars universe."

The Disney Channel WATCH app will preview the episode beginning July 19. Disney XD will air the show August 4 at 7:30pm, along with an extended preview of the upcoming Star Wars Rebels.
