In the future, guests at Disney's Animal Kingdom will be able to end their day with the "Rivers of Light" nighttime show. Held on the Discovery River, between Discovery Island and Expedition Everest, this show will combine new technology with "live music, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery."

When asked about a time frame for the debut of this new show, the article's author on the Disney Parks Blog replied, "We don't have a date yet for "Rivers of Light," but all the new experiences announced for Disney's Animal Kingdom will be debuting between now and 2017." Other "new experiences" he is referring to include the currently under-construction Harambe Theater that will host Festival of the Lion King, as well as Avatarland, which will replace Camp Minnie-Mickey.
