Disneyland adding new characters to 'small world'

Disneyland's ongoing rehab of the 'it's a small world' attraction will include the addition of Alice in Wonderland and the White Rabbit in the ride's England section.

Disney Imagineers have confirmed that they will be adding select Disney characters based on ride designer Mary Blair's original concept for the attraction. In response to protests to the rumored changes, officials stated that Mickey and Minnie Mouse will not be among the new additions.

The updates have been eight years in the making and will “respect and honor the original creative intent” of the attraction and will include “new richness, excitement and relevance.”
