Space Mountain gets makeover
by Leah ZanollaJan 9, 2009
An article in the Orlando Sentinel confirms rumors that have been swirling for years - that Disney will shut down Space Mountain for a much needed rehab. Rumor has long speculated that Disney would completely overhaul the attraction, much they way they did with Space Mountain at Disneyland in California. However, Disney is saying that this will be a much more modest update - track replacements, roof repair and an overhaul to the queuing area.
The attraction will close on April 19th and remained closed thru most of 2009. No date has been announced for its reopening.
