Father and son who were lost at sea to visit Disney World
by Leah ZanollaSep 27, 2008
The father and son who were rescued after spending 12 hours drifting in the Atlantic are visiting Walt Disney World as guests of Buzz Lightyear.
Walter Marino and his 12 year old son Christopher were swimming in Volusia County on September 6 when the current took Christopher far from shore. Walter attempted to rescue him and both were swept away.
During the ordeal, Christopher, who has autism, and his father were unable to see each other. They communicated by shouting a favorite phrase from Toy Story. Marino would yell "To infinity" and Christopher responded with "and beyond".
The father/son duo are expected to visit Disney's Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom today.
