Holiday Inn opening near Downtown Disney
by Leah ZanollaJul 3, 2009
After being damaged by hurricanes in 2004, the Holiday Inn on Hotel Plaza Boulevard near Downtown Disney was never reopened. Now, plans and owners have changed. In November 2009, the building will reopen, once again as a Holiday Inn. The new owners are spending $35 million to repair and remodel the hotel, which includes modernizing the 323 hotel rooms and adding a zero-entry pool. The Holiday Inn brand is currently undergoing a $1 billion rebranding campaign at all of their properties. In previous years, the building had been a Howard Johnson's and a Courtyard by Marriott.
