SeaWorld trainer's family blocks release of photos
by Leah ZanollaMar 19, 2010
Dawn Brancheau's family has finally been granted a temporary order to keep photos and videos of her death private. Brancheau, a trainer, was killed Feb. 24 by a killer whale at SeaWorld Orlando.
The photos and videos have not been released yet because the incident is still under investigation, but under Florida law, they become public once the case is closed. Brancheau's husband, Scott, says that releasing the images "which graphically depict the circumstances of the death of my wife ... will cause me untold anguish, grief and pain."
