According to some documents that were filed with the Orange County comptroller, WikipediaUniversal Orlando may be close to starting construction on another new hotel. According to the Orlando Sentinel, "A 'notice of commencement' was filed with the Orange County comptroller's office for excavation work in the same area where, according to plans Universal filed earlier, a new hotel with 1,000 rooms and 159,000 square feet of meeting space could be built on 20 acres. The site is between Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Royal Pacific Resort."

Universal had no comment on the filing. Documents were filed in June which plans for three hotels to be built at the resort. This latest filing would support those plans.

Cabana Bay Beach Resort opened at Universal this spring.
