Disney Cruise Line - Stateroom 2040 Report
| Ship: Disney Fantasy | Stateroom: 2040 | Condition: 4 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9B | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 12/08/12 |
Notes: I loved this room. This was the first time that I was in a room with a porthole, and I really liked it. The room is on second deck, so pretty close to the water.
The window has a little padding, so you can sit there and watch the scenery outside. The room itself is a decent size, with a drop-down bunk bed, so good for 3-4 people. Everything was in good, clean, working order.
There is the split bathroom, double (or is it queen?) bed, and in the other section is the couch, desk, television, cooler, and window. You can close the section off with curtains, but I never did.
I really liked the location. It was right near the mid-ship elevators, and near the entrance to Enchanted Gardens. When you go into the central corridor, the elevators are directly to your left and the main staircase. To the right is the restaurant and also some stairs that take you right to the 3rd deck where the Royal Court restaurant is located. I found this to be so convenient.
The cons for this room, in my opinion, would be that you really need to go up a deck to get to the aft elevators to go up to the Meridian Bar and the Remy and Palo restaurants, as well as up to the Europa section. The aft elevator and stairs don't have access to the rest of Deck 2 due to Enchanted Garden Restaurant.
In my opinion that was the only real negative to this room, and the fact that I was less inclined to use the stairs to get to the upper decks. Other than that, great location, and really nice room. I would definitely stay here again, and do recommend it. |
| Ship: Disney Dream | Stateroom: 2040 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9B | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 10/17/12 |
Notes: Perfect location! Very close to Enchanted Garden and stairs up to Atrium. We never heard any noise, nothing bad to say about this room. |
| Ship: Disney Dream | Stateroom: 2040 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9B | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 06/15/12 |
Notes: Great location, very close to midship elevators and Enchanted Garden. You can use the stairs to get easy access to the atrium, guest services and the shops, or gangway during the port days. You do hear some mechanical noise but it didn't bother us a bit. The laundry on this deck is located at the forward of the ship so bit of a walk to get to the laundry facility. If you are traveling with an infant and planning on using the pack and play, you are going to have very little space to move around. Other than that I would highly recommend this cabin. |
| Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 2040 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 3 | Category: 9 | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 02/17/07 |
Notes: The condition of the stateroom was fine. But it was a connecting stateroom and we could hear the entire conversation of the people next to us. We could even hear what they were watching on TV. The port hole was nice though. |
| Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 2040 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9 | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 09/17/06 |
Notes: Plenty of room; everything in excellent working order. Very convenient to both the forward and midship elevators. Some club noise in late evening, but very tolerable; worse noise actually came from neighbours (this is a connecting stateroom) who blasted their radio on occasion, and would also speak very loudly (could follow their conversations word-for-word). Would stay in this stateroom again. |
| Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 2040 | Condition: 4 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9 | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 10/20/05 |
Notes: Contrary to the other poster, I found this room NOISY from the bar above us each night. I had to wear earplugs to fall asleep. DH and DS had no problem but they never do. Great 4 foot round window and steamer trunk. Convenient to all things forward, but had to walk to aft for most food - good exercise to burn off those calories! |
| Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 2040 | Condition: 4 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9 | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 02/19/05 |
Notes: This stateroom was indicated on the web as a noisy room - NO complaints from us! It was VERY convenient to the Forward elevators! Only 1 deck above gangway disembarking and tenders. Only 2 decks below all the shows and bingo!
We experienced very little movement due to the seas - definitely less than friends on the upper decks! Loved this location - we had adjoining rooms to 2038! |
