Disney Cruise Line - Stateroom 2588 Report
| Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 2588 | Condition: 2 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9A | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 05/09/12 |
Notes: The room itself is very nice, large with a great view and separate toilet and shower. Location to elevators is good.
BAD: It is extremely noisy, especially the Pirate Party night. This room is under Lumiere's dining room and you can hear the staff banging dishes, carts etc. until very late at night. Get a room 3 rooms down towards the back of the ship and you won't be under Lumiere's. We like our sleep :) |
| Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 2588 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9 | Location: Aft |
| Sail Date: 05/09/09 |
Notes: We had a great experience in this room. It was very quiet; we heard none of the noise mentioned in previous reports. The room was very conveniently located to deck 3 and the aft elevators (which are much less crowded than the midship elevators). We also loved our stateroom host, Calvin. We would choose to stay in this room again! |
| Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 2588 | Condition: 3 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9 | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 10/04/08 |
Notes: We liked this room except for a couple of things.
The positive:
There is a thick wall between this room and the one next to it, so you are not quite so close to your neighbor. Also, the door is set slightly further back than all the other rooms making it sort of "hidden". What I mean is, when you stand at the end of the hall and look down, you can't see the door to this room. We liked that.
Also, the porthole is larger here than in some of the other rooms on this deck. We had a GREAT view of Castaway Cay.
The Negatives:
There is no trunk for extra storage here.
The room is pretty much in the middle of the ship- not very close to the elevators, which could be good or bad, depending on your preference.
The biggest negative- NOISE.
This room is under one of the kitchens. We could here them banging and thumping around above us at all hours of the day and night. It wasn't non-stop, but we would hear a loud bang here and a crash there. It is similar to being in an apartment while the people above you are moving furniture.
Overall, the noise didn't keep us awake, and we liked the room just fine. If you are a light sleeper, you may consider a different room.

| Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 2588 | Condition: 4 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9 | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 12/01/05 |
Notes: We were concerned as others have found this room noisy. We were pleasantly surprised. Yes, it is under the kitchen. We heard some door banging type noise each night between 10 and midnight. It was nothing that bothered us, though as we were still awake. We heard absolutely nothing during the night. Only fault with the room is some stains on the couch and broken tile in the bathrooms. Good location between mid and forward elevators. Very convenient to Deck 3 common rooms. |
| Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 2588 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9 | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 07/21/05 |
Notes: Not since I had a stateroom over a nightclub on another cruise years ago have I had a noisier stateroom. We were apparently under the galley and it sounded as if a door was located directly above us that opened and closed all night and day every minute or so. We hardly slept for the 3 nights we were on board. Also our stateroom attendant skipped us on the 2nd night. Other than that the room is convenient, spacious, and well kept. The attention to decorating details is impressive. |
| Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 2588 | Condition: 4 |
| Deck: 2 | Category: 9 | Location: Mid |
| Sail Date: 10/30/03 |
Notes: This is listed as a noisy room. The wall is slightly different and there was some mechanical noise from behind it occasionally but I had no problem. It did not have a trunk (chest) opposite the bed like the others in my group who had Cat. 9 cabins had. |
