Disney Cruise Line - Stateroom 5516 Report
| Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 1 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 9A | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 04/20/13 |
Notes: Unfortunately, a strong smell of vomit on the Apr. 20 sailing. Otherwise, would have been a great room |
| Ship: Disney Fantasy | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8D | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 08/18/12 |
Notes: Our room was great! The storage under the beds was fantastic. The bathroom had a nice shower with a wonderful shower head. The hair dryer is very powerful and you can find it in a bag by the desk. There was a bit of loud banging from time to time but it must have been worker related and not guests. I would highly recommend this stateroom! |
| Ship: Disney Dream | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8D | Location: Aft |
| Sail Date: 05/06/12 |
Notes: The room was the perfect size! Getting to it was a bit tricky, still got lost on occasion by the last day (4 day)! LOL!
When docked at Castaway Cay you could see the island! You can also see Atlantis as you pull into port!!
Issues:
Day 2 we had a weird pooling of water (some kind of wetness) at the foot of the bed. Started out damp to touch and turned into sopping wet by the next day. I told my room hostess when I first noticed it and he told his manager, his manager told him we likely spilled something, which we did not as we noticed the wetness upon returning to the room and it got increasingly worse! He set up a fan but it did nothing to help. He asked that I leave it uncovered when he noticed I had put a towel down so as to not step in it every time we passed the bed! It was really bad by the last day!
Also this room/hall is VERY noisy at night (not from other families) sounds like carts moving about and banging walls. It's quite loud, it didn't wake my son but it made it hard for me to get to sleep or go back to sleep.
I would likely not book this exact room again but the category was great!

| Ship: Disney Fantasy | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8D | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 03/31/12 |
Notes: This was the quietest room location we have ever had. We always stay far forward on the Magic/Wonder but with the straight hallway some noise still carries. We only saw a few people in the hallway near our room all week. There are many turns to get from the elevators to the room, but I think that helps to eliminate the noise as well. The room seemed to be bigger than cat 8 porthole rooms on the Magic/Wonder with extra space for a chair and the ledge of the porthole was wider. I was concerned about having enough storage space without the steamer trunk, but there was more than enough for the four of us. It was a great location, just like on the classic ships. Would like to book this room again. |
| Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8 | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 08/23/11 |
Notes: Room was great. Close to the Walt Disney theater and quiet.
Far from topsiders so you can get a little exercise before you eat again. |
| Ship: Disney Dream | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8D | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 08/16/11 |
Notes: This stateroom was in excellent condition. We are a family of four and this stateroom sleeps five. We liked having the extra space. I heard noises at night. Not sure where they were coming from. Sounded like carts being rolled. The noise wasn't enough to bother us. We would book this stateroom again. |
| Ship: Disney Dream | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8D | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 07/15/11 |
Notes: Overall this room was nice. It has large porthole with seat but has a blocked view when looking to the left. Has the split bathroom with the round tub. Lots of storage space and my daughter loved the pull down bunk. Was a bit awkward in trying to find since deck 5 forward is cut off so you can't walk from aft to forward directly. We got the hang of it after about a day though. It was a little noisy at times with a crew member door close by and various banging sounds sometimes throughout the night. Could never really tell where they were coming from. Didn't seem to bother my daughter but I'm a light sleeper and heard it all. |
| Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8 | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 11/29/09 |
Notes: This cabin was wonderful. Not noisy at all and on the same deck as the Oceaneer's Club. Loved it! |
| Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 3 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8 | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 07/18/09 |
Notes: This cabin is on a quiet hallway - only 24 cabins are on it. The hallway does not run the length of the ship on this side so we tended not to get a lot of people walking to get to other places. Room was updated during drydock so tile looked good. From outside it's sits above the A & G of "Magic" . I only rate average because the room steward could have paid more attention to making the beds look nicer (it looked like my kids made the beds). Did not notice a lot of movement even though this is more forward that I've sailed before. |
| Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8 | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 09/08/07 |
Notes: Loved this room - very close to the forward elevators and such an easy run down the stairs to the WD theater and shops. Was a bit of a walk from the aft when we docked. Only noise we heard was anchor when we docked. |
| Ship: Disney Magic | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 4 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8 | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 11/19/05 |
Notes: Very nice room with no noise. I did hear an exceptionally loud snorer in the next cabin, but only a few times and it didn't keep me awake. |
| Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 5516 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 5 | Category: 8 | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 11/02/05 |
Notes: We booked this room twice and loved it. I loved the location near the forward elevators, down the hall from the kids clubs, and one floor above the theatre. Very little noise. I will keep rebooking this room when we request to have an oceanview room. |
