Disney Cruise Line - Stateroom 8016 Report
| Ship: Disney Wonder | Stateroom: 8016 | Condition: 4 |
| Deck: 8 | Category: S | Location: Forward |
| Sail Date: 03/11/11 |
Notes: Beautiful room! Beds were all very comfortable, including, surprisingly, the sleeper sofa. The veranda has 4 chairs, two small tables, and one chaise longue. The larger of the two full baths was very spacious. The smaller was fine as far as space.
We had a total of 6 in the suite.... Two adults in the first bedroom, an adult and two kids (9 and 7) in the second room, and an adult on the sofa. We did not feel cramped at all. We also had room 8014 reserved next door (2 adults). It worked out well to have the living room in 8016 to gather people together, talk, wait for others to finish getting ready, etc. The living room was definately big enough for all 8 of us. Guest services issued us two additional keycards (upon request) for the suite... So that the folks in 8014 could come over.
One thing to keep in mind: the person sleeping on the sofa does not have direct access to a shower - only a half-bath with a sink and toilet. The two full baths are accessed by going through one of the two bedrooms. If you have a combination of early-risers and folks that like to sleep in, this is something to consider. Surprisingly, there is a decent amount of closet/cabinet storage in the living room for that person.
You CAN hear noise from the pool deck directly above the suite. Mostly kids running or heavy carts being rolled across the deck. This did not end up being a huge deal for us, as the noises were not loud, long in duration, or at odd hours.
The location is nice... Located adjacent to the forward elevator lobby. The quiet cove pool was a very short walk away. The restaurants are a very long walk. We did have a few problems with doorbell-ditchers, but not enough to request that the bell be turned off.
This suite has lifeboat station D, which is outdoors on deck 4, on the port side, adjacent to the forward elevators.
All and all, a very nice room suite - one that we would definately book again given a group of simlar size. |

Notes: We LOVED this cabin! The size was great. It was so nice having a dedicated bedroom for our kids. We could put them to bed at night and still have family over and sit in the living talking/watching tv without disturbing the kids. Also, when my son went to bed in the 'kids bedroom', my daughter and her cousins could watch a movie on the master bedroom tv, while the adults hung out in the living room. Great for keeping us all separate, yet together.
The balcony was a great size, as would be expected. On trouble was a chain smoker was somewhere near us and so it really limited the time we could spend on the balcony.
This room was super convienent to Deck 9 as it's right by the elevator/stairs (yet not noisy at all). Also an easy trip to the kids clubs. Parrot Cay and Animator's were a bit of a trek, but still not bad as it's not like you're walking there more than once a day.
We had 5 people in this room (3 adults, a 4yo and a 2yo) and had more than enough room. My 4yo slept on the top bunk everynight (her choice, as there was a lower bed available) and my BIL on the pullout bed in the living room and we never felt cramped.
My only regret is that now it will be super hard going back to a regular room! |

Notes: This room was perfect for us! Two adults traveling with our two kids (3 and 5 yrs). The kids took the first bedroom with two twins and had plenty of room. The living room/dining room was perfect for board games, coloring, eating breakfast. The concierge perks that come with this room are worth the price. We were spoiled and will only book category 2's from now on. |

Notes: Wonderful suite. The furniture was new (replaced during drydock in Fall 2005). Very quiet with no noise from the halls or from the deck above. If you want to see photos, PM your regular e-mail address to me (budwmn) and I'll send you a link. Loved this suite! |

Notes: Not noisy other than the occasional running of people on the deck above. Love being close to the elevators (surprisingly not noisy). Beautiful view! 3 sliding doors to verandah. There was more than enough room for 7 of us. 2nd bedroom can be positioned to have two singles and the bunk, or one king and the bunk. It was great for my inlaws. We LOVED this room and would love to have it again!!! |
