Disney Cruise Line - Stateroom 9172 Report
| Ship: Disney Dream | Stateroom: 9172 | Condition: 5 |
| Deck: 9 | Category: 5A | Location: Aft |
| Sail Date: 11/29/12 |
Notes: Highly recommend! Big balcony at the aft. For the short cruise, perhaps overkill. However, if I was going to book another balcony room, I would seriously consider one of these aft rooms since these balconies are partially covered and partially open with great air flow, space and views! Less paranoia with 2 small kids since the rail is quite slanted away at base. Probably the best views at port. Deck 9 aft is really convenient for Cabanas, Animators Palate, and D Lounge. The elevators and stairs are close. The rest of the ship isn't too far away anyway. I guess midship would be most convenient for everything but the balconies can't be nearly as nice. I think my ideal room for the money would probably be an aft room on a lower level, maybe more starboard since the fireworks are on that side. Otherwise, the space was great for a cruise ship and well designed. Loads of space for luggage- some under the bed. Very quiet room. |
| Ship: Disney Fantasy | Stateroom: 9172 | Condition: 4 |
| Deck: 9 | Category: 5C | Location: Aft |
| Sail Date: 05/05/12 |
Notes: Great room. It's actually a category 5E.
This room is at the very back of the boat. Very relaxing to watch the water behind the ship.
The deck was very deep. We asked our stateroom Hostess, Stefanie, for lounge chairs, which fit along with the regular chairs plus some!
Close to the aft elevators and stairs. Just 2 flights below Cabana's and the pools.
The room seemed big enough for just the 2 us, but probably would have been tight with my family of 4. The doorway seemed tight to get in and out of - not sure if all rooms are this way.
Would definitely choose this room again, but only if there are 2 of us. |

Notes: We loved this room! The biggest "plus" was the oversized balcony. It is next to a handicap accessible room and that balcony is huge, but our balcony was larger than normal and it was so enjoyable to be out there and have so much space! Also, the ship backs into ports, so you have the best view of the ports of call (Nassau and Castaway Cay). We got amazing pictures of Atlantis in Nassau from our balcony. The only "down" side to this balcony is it gets dirty from the soot from the steamer on top of the ship. We simply asked our room steward to wash it daily which he did with no issue. I would suggest bringing some old flip flops to keep out there and wear them when on the balcony only to keep your cabin floor from getting dirty. Everything in this room was wonderful! Plus, it is close to the aft elevators which are not as busy as midship. And this location is so quiet! We are sailing again on the Fantasy and will choose this room again without question! |

Notes: Very quiet. At the very back of boat. On the way home we had such beautiful sunsets! Has a VERY comfortable Queen bed, a drop down bed that would sleep 1 and a pull out couch that would sleep 1 possibly 2 children. Small TV but not much on anyway and too much to do on the ship to watch TV. 2 very nice wardrobe closets, desk area and a beautiful verandah. It is right next to the handicap suite that has a large wrap around deck so you are able to see some view off the left side of the ship. I would definitly request this room again. Didn't see much of our housekeeping person, but he did his job well. He did turn down for our beds, left a nice chocolate for us and made very creative towel/blanket animals. The room was clean. It is at the very end so expect to walk but no different than most of the other areas. I can submit pictures upon request. crazyaboutdisneyworld@gmail.com Only my daughter and I in the room. I would imagine if you get 4-5 people in there, you really would have to take turns getting up to walk around but again...to much to do on the boat. Loved my massage, loved the view, loved the pirate night, loved the pictures, loved Animators Palate...didn't love being told we could wait in line for our favorite characters over and over again. Guess they only take so many. Very much loved the Nassau, Bahamas port and the Castaway Cay port...LOVED THEM! Hope I answered all the questions! Have a blast! |
