mlm5l - DVC member, visited in August 2011. The last visit I tried the table service Disney dining plan and I realize it's the same food as the quick serve except they bring it to your table. The food here is average at best. I ordered tuna and could not believe how small and dried out the fish was. Don't waste your money on sit down reataurants at WDW, just use the quick serve options.

klafollette - We were on the dining plan, and ate here as a table service meal. I got the filet mignon, and DH got the sushi deluxe as our meals. DH also ordered an eel roll and volcano roll and thoroughly enjoyed the sushi here. He highly recommends the volcano roll, you won't be disappointed. He would have rated the meal as a 9+, but my meal sort of dragged our combined rating down to an 8. My filet was tender, but didn't have much of a flavor at all. They served it with soy sauce on the side for some reason, so I asked for terriaki sauce and they brought me out sauce straight from the fridge, so it was cold, but added some good flavor to the meat. My meal came with white rice, two trees of brocoli, two baby carrots and some green beans. The vegetables tasted like they were previously frozen. DS got the teriaki chicken and it was served in a monorail shaped tray, and he enjoyed that. We got the ginger cake and green tea pudding for our desserts and both were good (not great, but good).

disneydorks - We just ate here last week on the Delux DDP, with an ADR. The food was very good, it was so good my wife who only ate there because of me (she's not a big Japanese fan) now lists it as one of her top favorites. We got there and were seated within a few mins of our ADR time. The only thing is they share the same waiting area with Teppan Edo and it can become a hot mess. Once we were seated we were seated near a window and could overlook the World Showcase at night which was very nice. The food was excellent, and blows away Teppan Edo. We started out with: Miso Soup - good Some tuna thing they just added to the menu which was excellent. It was a ball of Tuna Tartar rolled in black and white sesame seeds and quickly fried - AWESOME Tempura Spicy Tuna Roll - EXCELLENT Spicy Philadelphia Tuna Roll - EXCELLENT For dinner we both had the Fillet Mignon which was surprisingly good, they served with a Ponzu soy sauce which was very good not to strong for a good steak. Wife had a chocolate ginger cake that she said was very good.

TeaJay - The service here was fantastic. We had an ADR and were seated right away by a very kind waitress. My mom is not much of a Japanese fan but she adored her tempura fried seafood. I had the sushi combination which was fresh and just enough to fill me up. We skipped dessert but I have to say this was our favorite restaurant simply because of the amazing service (you'll never hear someone say "thank you" so much) and how quiet it was (there were not a lot of kids, probably because it is an eclectic selection of food). We really enjoyed the calm atmosphere, it was nice to be amongst adults for once.

littlemom25 - My favorite birthday meal. Our waitress was so incredibly sweet. They brought a delicious cake and sang in Japanese. Our bento box was amazing along with the sushi, sashimi, and chicken. The kids meals are great also. It was nice to be able to sit in a nice restaurant in holiday wear with kids and feel totally comfortable. I can't say enough about the people though, they really made this a wonderful experience.

dmancuso - We love Japanese food and were very disappointed by Tokyo Dining. The restaurant was for too loud to have a conversation and the food was not good. There were 7 of us and only the Bento was worth it. I will not eat there again.

JoQuo711 - The renovation of this place is gorgeous. Its ultra-modern decor, complete with color-changing lighting and HD screens displaying photos of Japan, is reminiscent of modern-day Japanese dining. The sushi bar takes center stage, with the chefs preparing right in front of you. The tempura and sushi are excellent. Two of the members of my party decided to order off the grill (steak, chicken) and they said their meal was alright but nothing spectacular. Based on what they said, I'd suggest that if you're going here, you really should go for the tempura and/or the sushi. Although we were not on the DDP, it's worth noting that the dessert selection is pretty limited and you may not find an option you like. The window view is great for Illuminations and worth requesting if you're there at that time, but if you're there earlier, it's just as nice sitting near the sushi bar watching them prepare the food (you have to stand by the bar to actually see them handle the food, the preparation area is hidden from view if you're seated).

PucTiger - My friend and I visited this establishment on in September of 2008 (returning in 2009!) We had made ADRs and arrived approximately 10 minutes before our ADR. We were greeted politely by the hostess, who informed us that we would be seated in 10 minutes (at our posted time!). We were immediately seated in almost precisely 10 minutes, right at our ADR, and had a seat at night overlooking Illuminations. Amusingly, Michael Moloney from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was sitting at the table right next to ours. We didn't dare interrupt his dinner, but you have to at least admit that it's good celebrity endorsement. Both my friend and I ordered off the disney dining plan. I had the tempura and sushi combo; my friend had the tempura and sashimi combo, both of which were covered. The food came out absolutely perfect and exquisite. The tempura was battered and fried -perfectly-, the dipping sauce, which isn't meant to be dredged in, was just right. I believe we both had a couple shrimp, a couple scallops, and a variety of vegetables. The sushi was rolled expertly and the sashimi slices were huge. We barely had enough room for dessert, which was also impressive. My friend had the green tea pudding and I had the ginger cake. The only complaint -- if I really had one -- was that the cake portion seemed a little bit on the dry side. This may be intentional, however. The ginger was surprisingly sharp and was incorporated in several layers. Now. Food aside, our service was outstanding. From the moment we were greeted, from the moment we sat down, our server was polite, professional, and gave the impression of being very authentic Japanese. She apologized for a 'delay' in our food -- what delay this was, I have no idea. We really didn't wait at all for anything we ordered. Everything was delivered promptly and I can't say enough good things about the people working here. GO VISIT.

Disney Anna - This last trip (May 2009) was my first visit to the Tokyo Dining section. We actually had reservations for the hibachi section, but were put off by the loud noises from the many kids and large families that dominate that area. We switched to the quieter Tokyo Dining area and were immediately seated. The refurb is great. This restaurant is beautiful and sophisticated. We both had tempura and it was excellent. The service was beyond reproach. One of the best meals of our trip.

Marc A. - My wife and I enjoyed the salad and we really loved the sushi choices. The kids meals came out in little monorails, which they thought were so cool. The view of the lagoon and the Japanese gardens was so nice. Good spot for a quiet lunch or try to catch illuminations.

BeamsofLight - We found the sushi here to be well-made, very fresh and in good portion sizes for the price. The sushi menu is also extensive. I haven't been with anyone who ordered from the grill selections, but I think most sushi lovers will be pleased and we will definitely go back. The restaurant shares a partially-open wall with the (separate) hibachi restaurant beside it, and there isn't a lot of decoration that seems designed to dampen the noise. The combined noise of the hibachi grill shows and the Tokyo Dining dining room itself can be a little overwhelming during busy meal times.

Mitsukoshi Tokyo Dining offers traditional Japanese cuisine and ingredients with innovative presentations. The décor of the restaurant is elegantly done in a modern setting. From the moment walk in you are greeted by sincere Japanese cast members, and you'll find that their constant bowing adds to the authenticity of your dining experience. The menu combines traditional food culture dating back to the Edo period with the spirit of modern Tokyo. Entrees include sushi and sashimi, steak, chicken, and shrimp, as well as beverages such as hot sake, green tea and Kirin beer. If you've never had sushi, this is the place!
