    KLUCA - We have eaten here twice, most recently in Jan 2013. The service and food were great. The milkshakes are awesome, but watch because they are endless and the servers will refill your child's unless you stop them. Around the time we were settled in and enjoying conversation, the Hokey Pokey started and there was no getting out of it. However, this is part of the fun of eating here.

    d_wooden - Great Breakfast platter with an all you can eat skillet. How can a person complain about an all you can eat breakfast??? This was a great meal. We came back with the inlaws a few days later and had a blast. We were a bit late in arriving and the waiter had a blast with us. He proclaimed loudly about the need to buy a Mickey Mouse watch! This is a great place to either start your Disney Vacation or perhaps as your last meal. There were a lot of memories made from all the frivolity throughout. The food was quite good too. The BBQ Ribs and Chicken were fantastic

    bellebookworm9 - We had ADRs for 2:15pm on 10/10. We arrived at 2:00, but we were not seated until almost 2:30, despite an abundance of empty tables. Our server was Barbra, and she encapsulated the theme of the restaurant. She threw straws at us ("Here, have some more for prosperity!"), made my mom a napkin bib after she dripped BBQ sauce on herself, and explained why our forks were different sizes. I had a chocolate shake to drink, and we each ordered the skillet. The shake was great, but almost too chocolatey, as there was chocolate syrup on top. For the skillet, mom liked the ribs and I liked the chicken. The mashed potatoes and corn on the cob were excellent. The cornbread was a bit too crumbly. We were pleased and left very full, but we don't know if we'd return in the near future.

    Forensicmom - The first time we ate here, we managed to get a large table in the back of the restaurant that was pretty quiet. The food was pretty good (better then the parks cafeteria style menus). The second time we ate here, we were in the middle of the noise. The food was ok again. The steak was pretty good, as were the mashed potatoes. Overall, we enjoyed it

    lmyers1000 - I have never had a bad meal at Disney until we went here. I can deal with the loud noise and behavior but the service and food did me in. First the waitress threw staws in my husbands face and said "well thats how we roll here, get used to it". Then she continually leaned down and yelled in my right ear almost everytime she came to speak to us and though this was hilarious. When my husband needed a refil she came up from behind and slammed a huge cup of coke down so hard it spilled and the silverware jumped and said "thats what you get for drinking it all". When the food came the appetizers were good. My husbands skillet was edible, but nothing to brag about. Fatty ribs, lemon pepper (not BBQ) chicken, and pork were decent. My steak was fatty, grissly, and burnt. I tried to tell the waitress I could not eat this, and she just laughed and left. I am not sure what cut of meat it was, but it was not up to the standards I have had at every other restaurant I have eaten at while at Disney. I should have asked for a manager, but we were both so irritated by the end of the meal we just wanted to run out screaming. I have cancelled all future reservations and rebooked elsewhere.

    Nadjalu - We love eating at WCC. It is DH's favorite and a must for every trip. He gets the skillet and loves it, the brisket is his favorite. DH also loves the antics, he is like a kid. Always tries to be served teh gallon soda before our food arrives. And he succeeds most times. I get the steak entree. The ribeye was the best steak I have had anywhere in or out of WDW. But they discontinued it. Now it is a NY Strip, which is very good, but that ribeye.... My steak has always been prepared perfect med/rare. And the flavor...reminds you of a real open fire bbq, so tasty! WCC is fun for all. But we go for the food. It is also a nice location by MK.

    nottoway - First time at Whispering Canyon - 2 got skillet ( all u can eat) and others used a la carte. Food was good but not special - ribs were not good - but brisket and chicken and mashed potatoes very good. Fun place for kids - the schtick might get old..and not a place to come if you are looking for peaceful meal.

    DisneyFamily123 - Dec. 2010 - We like visiting Wilderness Lodge... like the lobby. 2nd time to Whispering Canyon Cafe. Our son enjoyed the jokes and antics at age 3 and 5, but I didn't care for the food. The ribs were fatty and the other food on the canyon skillet was just OK. I did have a reservation for Artist Point but cancelled it to come here instead. DS had fun so it was worth it, but next time I'll go to APoint. I didn't mind using a dining plan credit but if paying out of pocket, it's very expensive for the quality of food.

    amdrees - I was concerned about this restaurant as a read mixed reviews. It wound up being one of our favorite meals. We had dinner around 7 and the place was hopping. I ordered a caramel shake, DS ordered a chocolate, and DS 6 ordered a cotton candy shake. They were the best shakes I ever!! My 3 year old drank his down in less than 5 minutes. My 7 year old loved the "raining straws." The food was good but on the salty side. We ordered the skillet and loved the ribs and pulled pork. The mashed potatoes were tasty. I wish they had brought out more corn bread. The S'mores cheesecake was only so so as a dessert. Our kids enjoyed doing the Hokey Pokey and the pony races. The best part was how the staff interacted with one another. It is not a place for everyone but if you can handle the noise and are looking for a family friendly fun time this is the place!!

    Grace4me - Get ready, this place is a noisy rootin' tootin' good time! With craziness like the Stick Horse Race and the Hokey Pokey. And watch out when you ask for Ketchup, because you will get a lot! This is a really good time, just make sure you are in the mood for it. We were very tired when we came and so my sense of humor wasn't as it usually is, which i somewhat regret. The food was good - we got the skillet and it had great bbq chicken, ribs, brisket, mashed potatoes, cornbread . . . just a good country meal, similar to hoop dee do. I was disappointed in my dessert. I got the apple streudel pie? I think - not a good as I hoped for. But hey, the rest was a great time. I love the WL and the atmosphere of the place was just as neat as it could be - if you have young kids, this is definitely a fun place to break. Enjoy.

    toobusyimagining - My family and I had breakfast at the Whispering Canyon Cafe, and we were not impressed. For starters, there wasn't any of the "rowdiness" or excitement that the place is known for--they had a halfhearted attempt for the kids to race around on toy horses, and ketchup piling up at tables, but our waiter wasn't really into the vibe. Perhaps it was because it was early in the morning...but it our reservation was for 8:55. There weren't a lot of people there, either, which could also be another factor. Either way, it was disappointing, and no more exciting than a breakfast at any restaurant. For food, three at our table ordered the skillet, and one pancake dish. The skillet seemed alright, with good eggs and waffles, but the biscuits and gravy didn't look very appetizing. The pancakes were reportedly nothing out the ordinary, and just okay. Other than the mickey waffles, the whole meal was very mediocre. Compared to the wonderful quality and variety of the breakfast buffet over at the Cape May Cafe (and there's characters too!), this place was not worth our dining credit.

    sbprincess - My husband and I ate here for dinner on May 12, 2010. We were seated quickly after arriving and our server was named Ally, I think. She was hilarious. She didn't make us do anything publicly but she was just in a great mood and made us feel like family. We both ordered the skillet so they only brought one, which was fine. I don't like slaw so she only brought one portion for DH and he said it was very good. Neither of us wanted the salad so can't comment on that. Everything else was great except for the corn on the cob. It was pretty dry so I only ate a couple of bites. The beans weren't exactly what I like but they were okay. My favorites were the mashed potatoes, pulled pork, and cornbread. OMG - the cornbread! So moist and tasty! I ate way too much of it! My husband really liked the brisket, ribs and potatoes. For dessert I got the s'mores cheesecake to go and DH got a cream-cicle (sp?) shake to go. The cheesecake was very good but didn't really remind me of s'mores...just cheesecake with chocolate on top. The shake was tiny though! Maybe it was the only cup they could give him but it was in a child's sized styrofoam cup. He said the taste was okay, nothing special though. Our waitress also packed up the remainder of our skillet to go. Although we never ate it, it was a nice thing to do! Overall, I would recommend this place for a fun dinner and for BIG eaters. We were miserably stuffed when we left. But everything was so good and there was plenty of it! Do not miss the cornbread!

    littlemom25 - Got there early for Dinner AR and still had to wait 20 minutes. However, this place is so much fun. Our kids are loud and obnoxious so they fit right in! We love the cornbread,pork,ribs and brisket. They brought a huge raspberry lemonaid which was great for all of us. Because it was my birthday I got a huge hat and a yummy cupcake. The waitresses sang happy birthday off key while eating a piece of cake which was really funny. If you ask for seconds be specific about how much you want or you may be wasting a lot of food. We made a great memory here that our kids will always remember.

    chum - Love the lodge and it's nice to eat just off the grand lobby. This place caters to kids and those ready for a raucous time. Service was not quick and waiting 10-20min after your reservation is to be expected. Server did not take our order until 1hr after our ressie. Expect a total zoo here during peak season. Be ready for your server to spend time with the neighboring tables in your section which can delay orders, refills or other requests. The pony race around the dinning room is a nice idea for kids. The food is mediocre and overpriced. Not much to remember about our meals.

    kaetra - We had lots of fun with our server, but our in-laws just didn't understand the concept of the humor. So, if you have a good sense of humor and you get a fun server you will like this place. All the food I had was excellent, with the exception of the ribs. The roast chicken and pulled pork were very good. The cole slaw was some of the best I have ever had and the corn muffins and salad were delicious! The ribs were pretty gristley and not much meat on them at all. The BBQ sauce is good and the drinks were very good. My FIL has a diet coke problem in that he requires at least 10 instantanious refills every time he goes to a restaraunt or he gets very fussy. :( Our server fixed him though, she brought out a quart size mason jar and he couldn't finish it! Ha! They make very cute, tall birthday cake hats out of paper and straws for birthday people. Having said all that, it wasn't one of our favorite restaurants and there are so many really good ones we probably won't go back to this one.

    Joolish1313 - We went last Oct and after reading the reviews I knew it could be a loud place. Since it was just the 2 of us (no kids) it was good to know ahead of time to not expect a quiet, calm meal. The kids around us looked like they had a great time, bringing ketchup and riding the wooden ponies. The food was fantastic. We had the Canyon Skillet (Smoked Pork Ribs, Pulled Pork, Oven-roasted Chicken, Beef Brisket, Mashed Potatoes, Cowboy Beans, and Corn on the Cob Mixed Greens Salad with Apple Vinaigrette, Coleslaw, and Fresh-baked Cornbread). Soooo gooood!

    JEThompson99 - Be warned: This place is designed so that the servers will pick on you a bit, but that's what makes this place great. It all falls into making you feel like your at home in the country. Your place setting may even be purposely short by a couple forks as it gives the servers and excuse to take it from another vacant table. Ask for ketchup and you'll get more than you bargained for! Bottom line is lots of fun, good country food.

    Cyrano - This was a much anticipated ADR on our first trip to WDW. The CM had a tired, fairly standard deliver of slap stick. The occassional "ketchup" was actually a nice distraction. While the all you can eat skillet was a healthy quantity, the actual food was disappointingly poor in quality compared to other restaurants. For the hotel atmosphere we would go back. But for the food we could have 2/3 meals elsewhere so will not be having a return visit.

    polineedyan - We actually chose Whispering Canyon for the antics and atmosphere. I dont think I could stand to hear 'I need ketchup' a single time more. I mustve heard it 10 times before I was seated, let alone while I dined. Our server had one single 'schtick' and it was actually bothersome. I dont appreciate having a pile of napkins and straws on my table. To see her stuff them back in her apron at one point was just plain gross. The spring rolls are a minute portion and the meat was absolutely dried to a crisp. The best meal is the skillet. I would avoid everything else. The activities were minimal. I was THERE for the schtick, and it was just obnoxious. I think its ridiculous to be standing in the great hall in wilderness lodge hearing about ketchup. I dont think as a guest of the resort that Id appreciate it. I would avoid Whispering Canyon. The food is typical at best.

    cc911va - We LOVE this restaurant. If you don't like, loud, raucous fun, then this place is not for you. The wait staff is loud and funny! The food, especially the bottomless canyon skillet is great. There were six of us on the dining plan. We were seated in a small space off of the main dining area which was nice if you did not want to be involved in the mayhem. Of course our children had not eaten here before so we made them ask for ketchup. HAHA. The best thing here are the bottomless milkshakes. You can have them on the dining plan. We got our dessert to go since we were so full from our dinner. We ordered the Canyon skillet, the meatloaf, and ribeye steaks. Everything was great, Hence the reason we had to order our dessert to go. There were pony races and ketchup all over the place. A great time was had by all.

    MickeyNicki - Grabbed a lunch here on Aug 16, our departure day...since we were staying at the WL it made sense to try it. We were seated right away to the first table in front of the host desk, right in the way of everything, they refused to move us even though there were tons of empty tables. Our server Doc was not into the fun and games, every table had a bottle of ketchup on it so no ketchup fun...no large glasses of drink for us either. DH had the chicken chowder and it was excellent until we found a huge bone in it. The corn bread is the best, the coleslaw is ok...the beans were terrible. DH had the skillet and the pork ribs were nothing but fat, the sausage was loaded with hard fat pieces in it, the chicken breast was ok, the corn was the frozen variety and the mashed potatoes were the best. I had the chef make me a brisket sandwich, it was sooo fatty, very dry, the bun was all dried out, the beans were gross and the grilled veggie pasta salad was disgusting. Would not go back at all...so disappointed in the food and the lack of antics.

    PIRATEGIRL007 - Breakfast at WCC is one of the best deals on property. The All-you-can-eat famkly style skillet is not much more than your chain breakfast buffet. The menu also has several choices if you are not up to gourging first thing in the morning. One tip: if you are thirsty juice is not the best option. The glasses are small and refills are expensive.

    missminniemouse - Our children have requested this restaurant for Thanksgiving lunch the last 2 trips we made at Thanksgiving. Service can be rushed here and the room gets very noisy at times. A number of years ago, we had a group of 24 that were in Walt Disney World at the same time. I arranged a dinner at this restaurant for the group and we were put in a secluded area at the back of the restaurant. This worked perfectly for our group. The restaurant staff was very easy to work with and did a great job at making sure our group was well taken care of. Be sure to ask for ketchup to go with your meal!

    WaltD4Me - Food was good, but heavy. I had lunch at Whispering Canyon. I liked the sausage and mashed potatoes and the cobbler was delicious, but all together very heavy for lunch. The servers were funny...at first, the whole schtick became annoying about half way through the meal though. Not much in the way of atmosphere in the restaurant I didn't think. Nice view outside though. It wasn't very crowded when we ate there, I can't imagine what the place is like when it's full. Not somewhere I would go out of way to go to.

We had napkins and straws thrown at us in a way that just made us feel like she wanted us to hurry up and leave the minute we sat down. The sides were pretty good, but I ate very little and left somewhat hungry. We won't be going back. But kudos to the staff that enjoy their job - it is entertaining when they get into it.

    minnie74 - I always have fun here. I've eaten here many times, and I will say that the level of fun really depends on your server. Some servers are really into it and keep you in stitches, while others are just too overwhelmed to interact much. I've always ordered the skillet. I LOVE the potatoes and ribs! The desserts look wonderful, but I never save room for them! If you've eaten at the Hoop-Dee-Doo, you'll find the food very similar (if you order the skillet anyway). The kids have fun with the stick pony races, and the crowd really gets into it. It's a great break from the parks, and easy to get to from the Magic Kingdom, or Epcot (monorail to Contemp., then ferry to Wilderness Lodge).

    DemoBri1 - You really have to like an interactive dining experience to dine here, especially during the dinner hour. Breakfast is usually calmer at WCC, but you will still have a certain bit of interaction with the wait staff and diners from other tables. They normally do some kid-oriented things at least once during your stay, such as a wooden horse race around the outter-rim of the restaurant. The food is very good, and I highly recommend the skillets, both breakfast and dinner. You get a very good amount of food for the price on the skillets, and it is all you can eat. If you have hearty appetites in your party, this is the way to go. There is a good selection of other items on the menu besides the skillets. The waffles are excellent at breakfast as well as the pancakes. I cannot comment on the kids menu as we normally order the skillets and the kids will eat off that.

    Daycounter - If you want a fun place to bring your kids, this restaurant is for you! If you want a more "adult" meal stay far away from this place. The food is the usual "all you care to enjoy," fried chicken, ribs, corn, etc. There is nothing that separates this restaurant from your average run of the mill buffet, except for it's loudness and frenetic atmosphere. You will probably not enjoy this meal unless you have kids (so you can watch them yell, hoot and holler). There are better places to spend your hard earned money.

    MikeWD - Like the 50's Prime Time Cafe over at the Studios, this dining experience relies heavily on the personality of your wait staff. When we dined here, it was at an off time, and the wait staff did little more than take our order and bring our food. Other wait staff in the restraunt were having good-hearted banter with their guests and seemed to be having a good time. The food was pretty good. However, my wife is diabetic, and the Chef did nothing to go out of his way to provide a decent dessert option. He literally unwrapped a sugar free brownie and put it on a plate in front of her. Unbelievable, especially for the price you pay. Other chefs will really take care to make the experience for individuals with special food restrictions have the best experience possible. This guy either needs training on preparing food for guests with restrictions or sensitivity training.

    Splat25 - On the Disney Deluxe Dining plan, my wife, Daughter and I all get meals and share with my 21mo old son – who eats as much as my daughter (I sense trouble coming later..). My daughter and I had the Canyon Skillet, which is all you can eat and served family style on a platter. This platter sits on a very cool lazy Susan that looks like the end of a barrel. This Dinner Skillet came with a bowl of mixed salad greens topped with an apple vinaigrette dressing served before the main platter arrives. After this course is done the main course itself arrives complete with fresh baked cornbread, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, cowboy beans, corn on the cob, smoked pork ribs, pulled pork, oven-roasted chicken, and Peel-n-Eat shrimp Let’s get right down to it, the food was essentially a very good barbeque served family style. The Smoked Ribs had a good flavor and were not tough or overcooked as I thought they would be. The flavor seemed like sweet barbeque sauce with a light hickory smoke to it. My 21mo old son loved these. My favorite was the pulled pork though, it was juicy and tender. It also had a nice bold spicy flavor, but was in no way too hot for anyone in our party. The oven-roasted chicken was cooked so it had a slightly crispy exterior texture that helped keep the rest of the piece juicy. The spices were about what you expect for chicken, so nothing too surprising there – just good. Also, my wife stole a piece of chicken from the platter to “sample” herself. The mashed potatoes were the right consistency for good BBQ fare and lent themselves well to mixing with other things like the cowboy beans. The beans are essentially barbeque beans and were also about what you expect from simple BBQ beans from the can at home. Again, you need these things to make the whole BBQ platter experience complete and it worked well. Also, the peel and eat shrimp were a hit with both kids and myself. They took a bit to peel at times, but they had excellent flavor to them and were not too bland like others I’ve tried. The shrimp were my daughter’s favorites. The wife ordered the 10 ounce Smoked Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and season vegetables. It was very good overall and was cooked correctly (she orders medium well most times). The smoked prime had a very strong smoky taste to it, so if you like that, then go for it. We ordered chocolate milk for the kids and they served those in sealed cups so spills were less disastrous. The DW and I ordered iced tea and found it to be very good. What was really outstanding was the huckleberry martini we had! It had very good berry notes and sweetness to it without being too much of a good thing. This was one of our favorite drinks while at the parks. Atmosphere: One of the primary draws of this restaurant is the fun atmosphere of the old west mixed with wild and zany server antics. While we didn’t really elicit any of the super funny stuff like super sized drinks, we did observe other kids asking for crayons and ketchup. One of the things our 5yr old daughter LOVED was the restaurant wide kids’ horse race around and around the restaurant. They give out wooden horse poles and the kids get to ride them in a race while the parents and audience cheer them on and wave their napkins in the air. We even observed a server interrupt a cell phone conversation and have the entire restaurant talk to the person on the other end!

    SamIAm21 - I like WCC a lot. I always have a good time when I go there. One server made my sister in law eat broccoli by playing the airplane game with her. She's in her 50's! HA! I love the ketchup gag and all the other crazy antics, but I do admit that sometimes its so loud in there, you can't really have a decent conversation. The food is sometimes very good and sometimes not so very good. I don't know what happens from visit to visit, if they change chefs or what? It's just not very consistent, which makes it sort of hard to commit to eating there. If you have young kids and love all the wackiness, I'd take a chance on it at least once.

    shmedly123 - We ate at here during our stay at the Wilderness Lodge in December 08 and we were pleasantly surprised. We heard about the ketchup antics etc. and my wife was a bit hesitant but decided to give it a try. I had the Canyon skillet and loved it. I noticed on the menu page that it says pork sausage but i was served beef brisket instead and the brisket was excellent. The chicken and pulled pork were also very good. I am a meat and potatoes person and I thought this meal was the beast meal I had all week (even better than Le Cellier). My wife had the Western chicken pasta and she said it was very good too. She thought it was a bit rich but overall it was her favorite meal as well. In my opinion definitely worth going out of your way for. The only negative was that once the restaurant started to fill in it became very loud. If you do not have children that may affect your dining experience.

Back then I frankly had lower standards of what good food was, and being a meat eater, though it was great that we were served this never-ending supply of meet! Now that I think back, it wasn't that great of a meal. Now that we have kids though, I'd be curious to see how they'd enjoy the servers' interactions with them.

While it's not necessarily a must-do for us, it's still on our list of great places to go while at WDW. We've had some really fun and wild experiences here and always enjoyed it. If you're looking for something quiet and relaxed, you don't want to go anywhere near this place. But if you're looking for a good time and plenty of good food, then check it out.

    Carolinagal - I'll preface this by mentioning that I am not a huge BBQ fan. Even so, I was excited to finally eat at the Wilderness Lodge. The variety of food offered was somewhat limited, and highly reliant on sweet BBQ sauces to provide flavor. Our server was pleasant, but was not at all interested in participating in the usual "schtick" the place is famous for. She greeted us pleasantly, served our drinks, and then left us for at least 30 minutes. We were seated at the far end of the dining room, and my daughter had to keep getting up to watch the action. Dinner was overly long, and took almost 3 hours from our day that could have been spent elsewhere I think this place deserves at least one visit, but with so many places at WDW we've not found a reason to go back. I do think our server and her lack enthusiasim played a huge role in our experience

    Mouse Skywalker - We ate here for my daughter's 9th birthday. We had a great time. There were 5 of us in the party. Three of us got the "all-you-care-to-enjoy" skillet, and two of us got the "bottomless" shakes. Wow, that was a lot of food. The cornbread was fantastic. The ribs were OK, a little dry. The chicken was nothing to write home about, but the pulled pork was very good. However, the kids loved everything - especially the mashed potatoes. We got extras of those. Our server was a lot of fun. She caught me "stealing" the silverware from a neighboring table. Our girls had a lot of fun riding wooden hobby horses around too. For dessert we had ordered a birthday cake special, and everyone sang Happy Birthday. We would go back there again. You can't beat going to the Wilderness Lodge too.

    timandlesley - We LOVE eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe! We are entertained from start to finish. From the rowdy entertaining staff, to the patrons throwing things on your table, to the pony races which are a HUGE hit with my kids. A highlight for me was our waitress making my husband ride a stick pony around the restaraunt AND lobby singing "you are my sunshine" to me at the top of his lungs for our Anniversary - PRICELESS! The food here is about a 7/10 to me. I have had the meatloaf and the skillet, both are pretty good, not the best I 've had, but good and I always leave full, we go more for the fun than the food. If you don't eating in a rowdy loud space or if you have sensitive kids to noise or antics then I would stay away. If you want to have a lot of fun, jokes, antics and good (not great but good) down home cooking, then this is the place for you, it won't disapoint!

    smphbear - We were there at opening and running a little early. We were quickly seated near the fireplace. Our waitress saw my Dis lanyard. She is a poster who took great care of us. We opted for the skillet. DH commented how good his strawberry milkshake was. The food was served at the right temperature. The skillet was very good. DH and I found ourselves reaching for the last of the pulled pork at the same time. It was tender and well flavored. The chicken was well flavored. We had the smores cheesecake which was yummy. They had no problem packing up DH's slice to go. We could hear the antics in the other room, but things were pretty sedate where we were seated. Our server injected a lot of humor. DH and I had to lead the hokey pokey in the main room for our anniversary and his birthday. DH tends to avoid those things, but he had fun doing it. Our server brought out a candle and put it in the dessert so we could sing to him. We found the meal very good, and the atmosphere was fun. We are looking forward to bringing our boys here. It also gave us an excuse to visit the Wilderness Lodge.


Rustle up your appetite and bring your sense of humor. This rowdy and fun restaurant features "All You Can Eat Skillets." The Western clad waitstaff is part of the good-natured fun. Napkin twirling and hobby horse races are some of what you can expect. Be sure to ask for ketchup.

Bottomless milkshakes are available as well as a la carte selections if you don't want the skillets. Dessert is additional. Full Bar selection.
