    jlundeen - This restaurant doesn't take reservations, so we arrived fairly early for dinner. It took them a bit to get organized and seat us, but we were able to sit outside and people watch as we waited for our meal. I had the full slab ribs, which I couldn't finish. They were very tasty, but just too big a serving. The seasonal micro-brewery beer was very good too! We had cheesecake for dessert, which was very creamy and tasty.

    Crisv67 - March 26th, 2013 This restaurant was a quick walk from Epcot. The atmosphere was great. My daughter's pasta and chicken dish was really tasty. Our steak was cooked to perfection. We will return to this restaurant.

    tx2tn - The Big River has two things going for it; great beer and a wonderful location. Situated directly on the Boardwalk, its awesome to sit outside at one of their tables and watch the sunset or just people watch. The beer is really great. The food is ok, just really nothing special at all. Go here and get a cold beer, maybe an appetizer and just watch the people go by.

    lisakramer - Enjoyed a nice dinner out on the patio. Food was hot and good. Server was attentive and pleasant. We are happy to go back here when we are in the Epcot area. Always good. The only downside is that they don't take reservations, or didn't the last time we were there. I don't like taking a chance on getting a table or not. I like knowing that if I want to eat at X time that a table will be ready for me.

    allwdwfreaks - Tried this place several years ago and remember it as being OK, not great. Thought my wife and I would try it again as we were staying just across the water at the Beach Club. It was VERY loud and for some reason (like many of the other Disney dining now we noticed) we had to wait when there were several tables sitting idle. The menu I was handed was not clean, the place looked a little untidy which kind of went with the chaotic atmosphere and the food (grilled meatloaf) was average. The food was served very quickly but overall this just did not appear to be a Disney managed restaurant. Overall it was disappointing and will not be in our future plans. Note that we love everything Disney and typically have nothing but very positive things to say about all dining, accommodations and entertainment as they are typically all VERY well done. So for us to post a non-positive review is unusual. Too bad because it is in a great area and we love to go to the near by bakery for dessert (which was excellent). $46.19 for 2 entrees and 2 iced teas (plus tax/tip)

    mch04049 - The service was poor at best. Waited to be seated and was look by twice. Ordered the chicken salad and the chicken was so dry I had to have two flights of beer to wash it down. Server was lousy and the food took forever to come. Will not be back.

    alabamagirl - My husband and I just ate here today. The crab dip was awesome! My husband enjoyed his BBQ sandwich and my chicken quesadilla and salad were fine. Server was okay if a little disinterested. It was too hot to sit outside but I can see how it would be nice in the evening. I will go back just for the dip! : Posted via eTicket

    Kellygurlz74 - This was close to our hotel (Boardwalk), so conveyance was a big thing. I consider myself a bit of a “foodie” and also love going out to eat, trying new cuisines. I also have a very broad palette and I’m not a really picky eater. We were seated within about 5- 10 minutes, outside overlooking the lake & Yacht Club resort. The night was lovely and so was the view. Upon being seated, we were greeted by our server, who was a young gentleman, and friendly at first. We ordered iced tea. Upon coming back with our beverages, we placed our order. And getting the kind of “pushy” aura from our waiter. I’m assuming because we didn’t order beer or something alcoholic to drink. My friend ordered the Chicken Marinara- described as julienne breast of chicken tossed with marinara and asiago cheese in penne pasta. I ordered the Hazelnut Crusted Chicken- described as sautéed and served in a sun dried cherry sauce. Accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. Both entrees were priced around $15.99. We waited a bit, and some more, and then a bit more. (You get the picture right?) Then finally dinner was served. My friends Chicken Marinara looked delicious. Mine, not so much. Presentation is a big thing to me. My entrée must have missed dress rehearsal and forgot the greenery props it was suppose to have brought with it. My friend said that her dinner was good, although for 3/4 of the price she could have made the same thing at home. A basic, bland spaghetti sauce mixed with penne pasta, throw on some cooked chicken bites and a splash of cheese. Mine however, I have to comment that, Kevin did a dining review calling it the “sad little crab cake”, this almost ranks there. My Hazelnut Crusted Chicken breast came just as that. A flattened small piece of meat rolled in cheap breadcrumbs, no spices or flavoring. The chicken was so dry, I thought it was jerky. The sun dried cherry sauce, not so much. Literally. I think there was about a teaspoon splashed across the middle of this little filet. Very bland in taste. There was a hint of hazelnut flavor to it, but definitely not what I was expecting, nor what was described in the menu. Very little Hazelnut, no cherry flavor in the sauce either. The chicken was so dry; the sauce just seeped into the pores of this sad little filet. And the vegetables, usually on a REAL restaurant menu, it means a medley of vegetables. I was served pre-frozen, overcooked and over peppered snap pea pods. After I had my first bite of my chicken jerky filet, I was looking forward to the potatoes- certainly they couldn’t mess that up, right? WRONG. The potatoes that were served, was an ice cream scoop size of mashed red potatoes. Again, no spices or flavoring. In fact, I don’t even think they put milk/ cream or even butter for that matter in the mix. Definitely didn’t have any garlic in there either. They were cold and pasty. I think I could have spackled the holes in my wall with this stuff. The one thing that really leaves a bad taste in my mouth (besides this dinner) is low class customer service. And impression. Never once did the waiter come by in his several travels to the tables around us, did he ask to refill our drinks or check on if we needed anything. But he was quick to ask if we wanted dessert when we were finished. We weren’t going to take the chance. We paid cash so we didn’t have to wait on the credit card to be run, and made a mad dash for the Toy Story Mania Party. Which was a blessing to this dining experience! To give a final comment, my dinner at the MCO airport was better then this. And much cheaper! Do yourself a favor, avoid it unless you want to drink beer all night and BYOF- bring your own food.

    tx2tn - This restaurant is NOT California Grill or Victoria and Alberts. It IS a great pub with wonderful beer and good food. We have ate at this restaurant a couple of times and were quite pleased each time. The service was good and we love eating outside on the boardwalk.

    sunshine girl - I visited the Big River Grill on Sunday May 10, 2009. My boyfriend and I shared a beer cheese soup, which was delicious. I ordered the salmon with peas & redskin potatoes, he ordered the walnut (or was it pecan?) crusted chicken. Both our entrees were great, and we sampled several of the beers, which were all tasty. We sat outside on the boardwalk and had a great view of the people passing by. We ate around 9pm and walked right up with no reservation and no wait. We had a great meal and I recommend this restaurant highly!

    BlueFairy - This gets points for the boardwalk outdoor eating area. However, we've attempted to eat here and actually been seated outside, only to have a server never appear. We got up and went to Spoodles window. This happened not once but 2 times on separate trips. Other diners appeared neglected as well.

    LMO429 - We don't plan ahead or make ADRs to eat at Big River. But on 2 occassions we just decided to grab a quick bite and decided to eat here. The service was prompt and the beer and cheeseburger selection were very nice. (I think this was the restaurant that they do not serve french fries with burgers which I wish they did) If the weather is nice you can eat outdoors on the boardwalk and people watch.

    Daycounter - I wouldn't go unless you really liked beer. The food was TGIF quality, and it was hard paying good money for poor food. If you do happen to go, make sure you sit on the boardwalk.

    Mickey_Man - Temper your expectations and don't go when you have some place to be and this will work out well for you. The beer is usually good, the steaks and burgers are pretty decent, and you can sit outside on the boardwalk. Those features make this place one to try. The service has been hit or miss for us, and being outside during one of those Florida flash thunderstorms is NOT fun!

    GrumpyFan - We ate here in June of 2008 one night after returning from the parks. I had a beer and we shared entre' of something (don't remeber what) that was un-remarkable. The service was ok considering they were about to close, but overall this was one that wasn't bad but there was nothing all that great about it that made us want to try it again.

    xipetotec - We travel in a large group and usually stay at the BCV. So we're very close to this place and always stop in. Sometimes more than once per trip. though it IS a working microbrewery, kids and family are welcome ( it IS WDW after all ). And out group of 15 last time all loved this place. From the steaks to the pasta. I, for one, think they make the best burger on-site ( the Big Brew Burger ). The beers are obviously the feature, as they are fresh ales brewed on site. They have their usual standbys, but be sure to ask what the Brewmeister's special is. As for the facilities themselves, if you can ge ta seat on the boardwalk on a nice day, ( or even better, evening ) there's few better places to have dinner than looking over the lake outside on the boardwalk. And be sure to ask your server for a brewery tour, if they are not too budy they'll be glad to oblige.

    OKW Lover - If you are just looking for a place to have a beer, its got a large selection. Our experience over multiple visits was that service was poor to non-existent. The food was only passable if it actually arrived hot. With so many other good choices at WDW, don't waste your time here.


The Big River Grille & Brewing Works is a working micro brewery. Freshly made specialty beers are among the offerings. There are large glass enclosures where you can watch the brewing process. Indoor and outdoor seating. The latter offers limited views of the Illuminations fireworks. In addition to the house brewed beer, there is a full service bar. ADRs are not accepted at this Boardwalk restaurant.
