    wgeo - The good about this restaurant is obviously the themeing, which is great and the kids liked ending our Animal Kingdom day here. The menu is very large (at least compared to the small menus at many Disney restaurants). The bad is that this place is LOUD. It seriously gave me a very bad headache, I imagine my food was fine but my head hurt so bad I couldn't eat. Our other problem was the very long wait for our food. We didn't order apps and the place was not crowded at all, but it took very long for our food. We even tried to find our server and ask what was going on, but we couldn't find them in all the noise and confusion. Once the food came, everyone else thought it was fine but overpriced.

    norwane - I had heard horrible reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. We were late for our ADR's, but fortunately didn't have to wait long for a table. There were lots of food options, and the food was good. I also though the service was good. I was a little disappointed that we couldn't order the Chocolate Volcano, because it would be 3 credits. However, I did survive, somehow! ;-)

    Splat25 - We were seated pretty quickly next to gorillas. They ambiance and atmosphere makes it a fun place to eat, especially with kids. The food was surprisingly outstanding for a cheeseburger and definitely worth the trip. The drinks were also quite good. It can get pretty loud every 15 minutes of so with the gorillas but we will be back. They also have a really large gift store and the kids found some neat stuff. We joined their Landry's signature club online and were able to utilize some birthday savings to make it a really good deal for us.

    lisakramer - I enjoy the Rainforest Cafe, here and at Downtown. The menu is extensive, there is something for everyone. I've tried quite a few things and been happy with all of them. The dining room can be loud when it's storming, but I enjoy it. The only negative is that it seems like it takes a long time to be seated even with a reservation and service from the kitchen seems slow most times. I will call it enjoyable overall.

    mtcabri - We waited about half an hour past our reservation time to get to our table. That's really the only negative thing I have to say about this restaurant. Our server was terrific! The food was delicious and the portions are huge. If anything, we couldn't even finish our meals and had them wrapped up to take with us. My son and I both had the chicken fried chicken. It was really good. Then we had that volcano dessert which was too good to be true! We brought most of it home with us. I recommend eating here. We were on the Deluxe Dining Plan so it was worth it for us. However it will seem expensive if you don't have a dining plan.

    litlkar - Had dinner here 3-19-10. It was a good pic for our first day at WDW. This place is really cool, our daughter loved the animals. Does not accept DP, so had to shell out about $100 for 4 of us. It was worth it, our food was good. I had the Tuscan Chicken & my husband has the Mushroom Burger, he loved it. Our server was great !! can't remember her name. She suggested some cocktails!! We orderd them, they were Awesome!! the drink was green, I can't remember the name. After a long day of traveling, was well needed.

    ALISONX80 - We were seated right away, temp felt great, and attentive wait staff. First time there for my boyfriend and he loved the atmosphere. Best part of my visit-hands down the best lobster or seafood dip I have ever tasted. It isnt on the regular menu so it might be temporary (I was there on Jan 26). The mushroom sandwich was very tasty too, just a tad messy. The provided bday dessert was good (cant remember exactly what it was, I had so many that week) that came with raspberry sauce which was excellent. My boyfriend and I both had drinks which were great.

    Mgoblue44 - Nothing spectacular here. Food is OK. Service was very attentive. If you have little ones that need to be entertained this is a good place to do it. I wouldn't say 'don't ' go here, but if you have a Rainforest within an hours drive or so from your house, I think that would be the better option. There's noting here that says "Disney".

    luna99 - Rainforest cafe first of all can be found in various locations around the country besides disneyworld so for me personally, that is the number one reason why I wouldn't want to eat here while on vacation. Secondly the food is just overpriced Chili's food in my opinion.. it's decent foot but not great and too expensive. I can see how kids would like it because it has robotic animals and things but it is loud and not that great overall.

    Madi100 - I have to say that The Rain Forest Cafe was the first sit down restaurant I did in Walt Disney World. So, there are memories. We enjoy the atmosphere of Rain Forest Cafe. We enjoy the food. There is a drink that I love to get. If you don't mind the noise and the fact that it is over priced, you may like it. It's different and fun.

    pperfectmom - We have found this a great place to get breakfast before entering the park. I just wish it had an earlier opening time so you can finish eating before rope drop. We have had the tonga toast, the breakfast pizza and oatmeal and fruit. The servings are huge and can easily be shared even by big eaters. I also think the coffee they serve is a lot better than the standard WDW fare. You can make reservations for breakfast, but I don't think it's necessary for most days.

    Julylady - Contrary to other reviews, we have always had a good experience at Rain Forest Cafe! We have a Safari card which minimizes our wait time. We usually stick to burgers and salads which are huge and can easily be shared. We have always had acceptable to good service. When the girls were 3 and 5 they were scared of the animals and special effects, but as older kids they love them. The gift shop has some nice selections for kids and has lower prices than Disney gift stores!

    DeVineMom - The theming here is fantastic. I wish I was as pleased with the food. It's just okay. Nothing better than mediocre. As we found with the Downtown Disney location, the service is very slow. It's not quite as bad at this location. And this location did not seem quite as crowded or chaotic. It was noisy, though. I wouldn't break my neck to eat here, but it's probably worth experiencing once, just for the theming.

    The Grumpus - Average food at a premium price. You're paying for the atmosphere. The animatronics are weak and the sound just bounces off the walls. It can take a lot of time out of your day since it is at the park entrance.

    SamIAm21 - I had signed up for the Safari Card for RFC before our visit to WDW last summer. Upon entering, we were seated pretty quickly (just enough time to look through the gift shop... as I assume was as planned) and then to our table. We were seated on a main aisle, which meant that there was quite a bit of foot traffic and noise past our table, as if it wasn't noisy enough in there already. The service was poor with our server disappearing for long stretches of time and the refills to our drinks were few and far between. It was June, it was hot, and we were thirsty. The food was mediocre and no better than what you might get at your local RFC. I'm from the Chicagoland area, so there are quite a few in the vicinity. The check for lunch was pretty pricey, but luckily with the Safari card, I believe the appetizer was free and there was the initial deal of 10% off. I really wouldn't make it a point to eat here again. I can do it at home, so it doesn't really seem all that special on vacation.

    mmmears - We had a great dinner here in April '09, and several breakfasts and lunch before that. We've always been seated quickly. The decor is really fun and the dark and cool (temp) atmosphere is welcome after running around the park. The food is good and plentiful. There's so much on the menu that it's easy to find something for everyone.

    OKW Lover - If you've done a rainforest cafe anywhere else, then don't bother - its the same experience. Its loud and the service is poor. We had to wait a long time to be seated (even though it wasn't that busy), and the wait staff was lack-luster in their attention. Food is just OK. Children love the room- there is much to keep their attention, which is a good thing because you are going to be there for a while.

    xipetotec - It's a Rainforest Cafe, so right off the bat, if you don't like 'em you won't like this place. But what better place to finish off a day at the Animal Kingdom than in a themed restaurant with animals. The food is "okay" and the atmosphere is fun. if you're bothered by "noise" you may not like it.


The Rainforest Cafe is part of a national chain of restaurants. There's a huge saltwater fish tank that's part of the decor. Waterfalls, lush plantings and sound effects add to the atmosphere. Periodically there's a "thunderstorm" and the animatronic animals spring to life.

The Magic Mushroom bar is surrounded by whimsical animal shaped barstools. Specialty drinks are featured and there's a bar menu.

Adjacent to the restaurant is a large gift shop featuring Rainforest themed merchandise.

You don't need park admission as there's an entrance outside of the Animal Kingdom. If you are in the park, you can enter from there as well but you will be leaving the park and will need to re-enter.
