    Joolish1313 - We ate there on 2/4/10, there were 4 of us and we sat at the bar. The artichoke & spinach dip was eh. I've had better and it didn't come with enough chips. The salad with the peanut dressing was good, but the bread it came with was hard. Then the burger and the portobello burger were not up to par. The burger was not tasty, came iwth extra onions (instead of no onions) and the porobello's bun was soggy. Over all I would recommend going elsewhere...even McDonalds would be better than this.

    ALISONX80 - Went for the lobster dip as I was craving it after having it at the other RC outside Animal Kingdom a few days before. Also had some drinks. No disappointments. Service was great, not a long wait.

    MissBritt - My husband and I joined a family we are friends with for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney on July 4. We drove 4 hours round trip for shopping, lunch, and fireworks (which were cancelled). Our friends, Disney veterans, spoke highly of the restaurant, and made our reservations for 7 well in advance. Despite having reservations, we waited an additional 30 minutes to be seated. We were guided through the place and seated at a table too small for our party size, and immediately pressed in by the seats of those in the tables around us. Never have I been seated in such close proximity to other guests I was not dining with. Understandably, the holiday drew large crowds, and the restuarants tried to accomodate them. While my husband and I were taking in the decor and theming, our server arrived and asked if we had dined there before, to which we replied 'no' and our friends replied 'yes'. The server then asked my friend if they should tell us about the thunderstorms. Um, you just did. We ordered our sodas, which took 10 minutes to arrive, and then our meals. My husband had a BBQ wrap, which was priced a few dollars higher than the menus listed online, and I had the Appetizer Sampler (not its actual name, but certainly what I was in the mood for at the time) that was being advertised as limited-time, only $18.99! This appetizer/meal consisted of a tiny portion of fried calamari (not good), 3 or so fried cheese sticks (perfection), 2 chimi chachas (good), and a spinach dip of some sort with tortilla chips(good). After taxes and a 15% tip, this lunch cost $50+. The food was good but not excellent, the atmosphere was fun but crowded and extremely noisy (at times we had to yell to hear each other), and was very pricey. I was aware I would spend more at Disney, but this meal cost almost double what it would have cost us at a mainstream chain like Chili's or TGIFriday's.

    figment3258 - I enjoy eating here each time. The food is expensive but its good. We belong to the safari club which gets us a discount and gets us a seat right away no matter how long the wait. I recommend the card if you have this restaurant near you at home. Overall I think the service could be better buts its a nice place where I don't need to worry if my kids are making some noise.

    Madi100 - This is a fun place to eat. The first Rain Forest Cafe we ate at was this one, and we enjoy going to them anytime we are around one. The food isn't anything to write home about. But, we have found a couple favorites that bring us back. My husband absolutely loves the pizza, and I enjoy the spinach/artichoke dip. The wait can be very long. We are safari club members and have been forever. This was recommended to us on this site. It gets you priority seating, and it also saves you money on your meal. They have since raised the price of the club, but if you will use it, definitely get it before trying to eat at the downtown location.

    Nooshkin - We don’t usually eat at the Rainforest Café on vacation. They’re all pretty much the same and we have one in the town we live in- across the street from where I work in fact. But they could seat us right away so Rainforest Café it was! I should mention that I had lost 30 pounds just prior to this trip. I still have more to loose but I was suspending any dieting for this week! Still, I didn’t want to go too crazy the first night. RC has a pasta that I like but it’s about a kajillion calories. I figured if I was going to consume a ton of calories late at night, I was going for something I had been craving for weeks- fried chicken. The closest thing on the menu to fried chicken was the Chicken Fried Chicken- basically fried chicken breast with country gravy. It had the bonus of coming with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. I am a potato freak- I’ve never met a potato that I didn’t like! And I love most veggies but I was really hoping to get a mix of peppers and squash and zucchini or something like that. Jenny played it safe with a burger, which she said was very good. My food was…well, I should’ve gone with the pasta that I know I liked! Don’t get me wrong- I ate mine! It was edible. But it was not the dream meal I was craving for! The chicken patties (yes plural- the portion size was HUGE), were comparable to the breaded, frozen patties you can buy in the freezer section of the grocery store. Nothing special, kind of processed. The veggies were a medley of COLD vegetables and fruits- cucumbers, peppers, onion, jicama. It was good but more of a cold veggie salad. It would’ve been better with a sandwich – not a hot entrée with gravy! Oh- and the potatoes? Non-existent. No potatoes at that time. So I got a plate of 2 chicken breasts with gravy and heaping mound of cold vegetable salad. At that point it was after 10:30 pm and would’ve eaten a kitten if it crossed my path! In short, did I feel this meal was worth the price? Jenny’s burger – yes; my entrée- no. But it wasn’t horrible. I left full but it’s not at all something I’ll get a craving for – or probably even remember in 6 months!

    WaltD4Me - I love the Rainforest Cafe. Yes, it can be loud and chaotic sometimes, but I've eaten there many times when it was quieter and I just like the atmoshpere. I also think the food is really good. Yes, it is expensive, but it's a theme restaurant, I expect to pay a bit more at any themed type restaurant. I love their Chimi-Cha Cha's, their chicken fingers with coconut curry sauce and their salads. I get the Chimi Cha Cha's everytime I go to Rainforest, they are a 10+. I wish they offered a few more sandwhich choices, but all in all we all look forward to a meal at Rainforest when going to Disney World.

    msc_idiot - Definately a "to each his own" kind of place. While it is very loud, there is something about it that my family loves. I think it is that it is so kitchy. The food had been good and the atmosphere is alot to take in, but it all works together to make it something that you can identify with Disney (in a good way). While it is not up to Disney standards, it something that my family can't do at home and it is more than just dinner. It's kind of like Sci-Fi Dine-In. It is an emmersive experience that wouldn't stand if even one aspect was missing, for better or for worse. It is, however, very expensive.

    nenner1 - We had an enjoyable experience at Rainforest Cafe. The decor and animatronics are amazing, and while there may be a wait, you won't be bored. It can get pretty loud in here, if you have a young child who is easily overwhelemed by stimuli, then this may be a bit too much. Our son, who was 6 spent the first half hour with his hands over his ears. But eventually he got used to it and then really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food is not what you would call gourmet cusisine, but it is basic Chili's or Fridays level food. Ours was hot, and our service was attentive. It was expensive with two adult meals, two kids meals, one dessert four fountain drinks and two alcoholic drinks (in souvenir glasses) being over $100 before tip. I think if the concept intrigues you, definetly give it a shot at least once. After being to TR-Rex, we are actually excited to go back, but remember there aren't any of these around the corner from our house so we aren't tired of the concept yet!

    zeusywoo - WE have gone on every visit since Rainforest opened. We have tried others & the Florida one is our favorite. We have tried a lot of the food, it has all been tasty. The drinks are good too, even the non-alcoholic. We always find deals at the store. The Volcano Cake is something else.

    GreenCacher - Rainforest Cafe is horrible. The food is not only way overpriced for what you get, the quality and flavor is bad. They don't even have good hamburgers. The theming and novelty of the restaurant does NOT make up for the food, either. Definitely go somewhere else.

    DeVineMom - The wait here is incredibly long. - to be seated and to get your food. This place is loud and crowded. The food is just mediocre. I've never had anything here I thought was really good. Of course as with everything Disney, it's expensive. That being said, the theming is incredible. That's the main reason to eat here. The animals move and make noise, it rains, a volcano erupts. I would think some of it might be a little scary to some little kids and certainly distracting when you're trying to get them to eat.

    JeemaRee - If you have kids it's a must go. If it's just adults I'd probably pass. The food is tasty and the service is good but the noise is incredible. You have to yell to have anyone at your table hear you. And the meal takes FOREVER to get through so plan to spend a lot of time.

    Carolinagal - We've eaten here twice and have had miserable experiences both times. During our first visit, our daughter was frightened of the noise and the thunder storms, and was upset through much of the meal. The meal itself was served almost 40 minutes after we ordered, and was at room temperature, at best. We tried the Rainforest Cafe again a year ago and although we had more appreciation for the decor, the food was terribly disappointing. If I am paying $14 for a hamburger and fries, I expect it to be superior - not served with anemic toppings on a stale bun. The appetizer, which was served AT THE SAME TIME as our entree, was an order of mozzarella cheese sticks, and tasted as if it had been dropped in the same fryer as the fried fish. The $20 chicken fried steak was both tough and soggy, and served with gravy that must have some our of a jar. The best things about the meal were the descriptions on the menu - we won't go back again.

    xipetotec - I say recommended because we DO "like it". But wouldn't work too hard to go here. Since it's a chain restaurant, they have them all over the place. AND we prefer to go to the one at AK since it kind of goes with the theme. That being said, the atmosphere is fun, though a bit loud if that's an issue for you. The food is pretty good, not fantastic.

    DisneyWorld Delight - The Rainforest Cafe is a good restaurant, espically if you have children. There is alot to look at. The food is good. It's very noisy.


The Rainforest Cafe is part of a national chain of restaurants. There's a huge saltwater fish tank that's part of the decor. Waterfalls, lush plantings and sound effects add to the atmosphere. Periodically there's a "thunderstorm" and the animatronic animals spring to life.

The Magic Mushroom bar is surrounded by whimsical animal shaped barstools. Specialty drinks are featured and there's a bar menu.

Adjacent to the restaurant is a large gift shop featuring Rainforest themed merchandise.

The exterior of the restaurant is just as amazing as the interior. There's a large volcano and waterfall. Periodically they may bring out tropical birds.
