    whodini - My wife and I went to Napa Rose to celebrate our 2 year anniversary on the last night of our trip. We had a great waiter named Saucy who has been with the restaurant since it opened 9 years ago. He was great at balancing being attentive, but knowing when to give us space. The menu changes often, using seasonal items. We has the sashimi appetizer and the spicy beef and lobster salad to start the meal. I had grilled venison chop while my wife had thyme grilled swordfish. For desert I had their version of s'mores with homemade marshmallows and she had the pumpkin creme brulee. We also chose to go with customized wine pairing for $45 per person. Our waiter was also a certified somelier, and his choices were exquisite! For the starts, which we shared, he brought us out 1 glass of what a classic pairing would be and then 1 glass of something a little out of the box. We had a great night of comparing and contrasting what each of the wines did to the taste of the dishes. The best part of the night was that this wasn't the stuffy atmosphere of V&A. People dressed in "park attire" (jeans and t-shirts) were just as comfortable as people in khakis and a sportcoat. While the prices may seem high, I thought they were comparable to what you'd pay for the quality of service and food in any other major city in the US.

    ckquan - As soon as you enter the restaurant, you feel welcomed and the warmth of hospitality. The colors and decor are very inviting. The seats are over sized and cushiony. For appetizers, we had the Sauteed Hand-harvested Diver Scallops and Ahi Tuna Carpaccio. Both very delicious and well done. For our entrees we had the porterhouse chop and ribeye. The meat melted in your mouth. It was very good. Our daughter was 7 months old at the time and she was very fussy that night. Our waiter was very attentive. He asked if there's anything we needed for the baby. When we were not ready to order, he said "take your time, I will come back" and he came back at the right time. We didn't feel like he just left us. We felt he really took care of us and gave us an enjoyable dining experience. Thumbs up!
