• (3/5) They gave us the wrong room by mistake and we had to change rooms. Nobody helped with luggage, not much in the way of apologies. Had to spend a good amount of time on the phone trying to get it straightened out.


• (4/5) We like to check in at the front desk to interact with cast members and make sure the room location is to our liking. We were traveling with our 2 dogs and staying on Disney property for the first time, and it is a requirement that you check in at the desk when you have dogs staying in your room. They seemed a little surprised that we had our dogs with us or it was the first time this CM had checked in guests with dogs. Check in took a while once we got to the desk, but the line moved pretty quickly.

It would likely be quicker, but perhaps not as satisfying, to use the online check-in. The human interaction makes the wait very bearable.

Because I am Canadian however I did have to stop at the front desk to pick up magic bands and there was a bit of a wait. They did have cast members there with iPads assisting people whose issues could be resolved quickly, but I did have to wait. Overall it was a fine experience.

• (1/5) The lobby looked like a refugee camp with families & their luggage sitting along the walls. Hubby, our teen nephew, & I had to stand in line to check in - took 1 hour. The woman at the desk presented us with 3 bland gray Magic Bands, which was odd because we had paid ahead for 1 Villians band for our nephew (we already had Passholder bands for ourselves). No Villians band! That was disappointing. She assigned us a Little Mermaid room, but it wasn't ready, so she asked us to sit in the cafeteria with our luggage and check back with them every 15 minutes. After 2 checks (over 30 minutes), they said that room may never be ready & assigned us a room in Lion King. We got to the LK suite & it reeked of cigarette smoke. We are allergic! So we had to return to the desk to get yet another room; this was 3 hours after our arrival. We finally settled into a suite that was clean, but it only had 1 USB port. The LK suite was colorful with cheap, particle board decor like the headboards, which banged loudly when our neighbors found the savanna hot. I may be a Disney princess who just can't do a value resort ever again.

I was very glad I went inside and stood in line to re-check in becasue in a matter of minutes not only was a room available, it was one of the refurbished Lion King rooms! I was VERY happy!

The moment we walked in we were greeted by a nice gentleman who gave us a quick rundown of the process and invited my kids to enjoy the cartoons while I checked us in. I was then greeted by another cast member and asked if I had any questions other than checking in, which I didn’t. The actual check in at the desk was seamless.

Every cast member at the desks were taking such a ridiculous amount of time with each family. All I wanted was to get to my room and relax.

My room wasn't ready yet when I arrived at 11:45, but I asked I went to the front desk and asked if there was any room that perhaps was ready. The man quickly found me a king sized bedroom next to the King Triton statue. The king sized bed was great because I was staying solo (my sis and her fiance across the bridge at the Pop Century.) that was fantastic that he took the time to look for a room, even tho was wasn't "Ready" for my yet!

• (5/5) It was pouring down rain outside, we had to check out of our previous hotel ( Shades of Green) by noon. There was a very small line when we arrived at AOA. The cast member was able to give us our room early, around 12:45 PM. The cast member was very friendly and we were so pleased to get an early check in.

I called down and they sent someone up and within 15 minutes we were in our room. The man that came up to let us in took all our magic bands back to the desk and set them up and brought them back. again within 15 minutes.


• (2/5) The check in itself was fine (I did it online), but Bell Services misplaced our stroller rental which was frustrating. Also, our flight landed at 11:30 am and we didn't get our luggage from Magical Express until after 8pm after we had called down twice.

All of the members of our party have multiple MagicBands, some worked and some didn't. None of mine worked (including the 1 that was included with the package). After going to the front desk and waiting for 5-10 minutes, they fixed one of mine, but the rest would not work (they did work for theme park and PhotoPass).

Upon arrival the lobby was very full (even at 8pm) and checking-in took a decent amount of time with only a few cast members to check people in. That being said, they did a fantastic job explaining the resort and how everything worked there (we hadn't be to Disney is quite awhile. much had changed!) Next time around we would opt for online check-in.

• (1/5) We arrived they told us give them a little time for our room to be ready they will text us well four hours pass so i go in and the lady says o yea i found a room for you she gives me 3510 so i go here it’s the card room i go back in lobby a man standing there i said i my husband paid for the little mermaid room for me as a surprise for my birthday he say well there’s no rooms available in mermaid they are have problems in them rooms now my husband upset cause we didn’t get the room the guy turns and said well if you want the mermaid room you will have to wait till 10 -11 cause there’s no rooms cleaned so if that was the case why didn’t they tell us when we arrived at 915 am we was told there will be maid service we signed for it i never had room service i had to call every day fir clean towels they never took my trash then we had to call the toilets didn’t flush no shampoo in the one bathroom no one treated us with respect workers where not friendly at all i was never so upset as i was this time around at a resort we paid slot of money to be unhappy

Took 45 mins to twll.me.they could not put onions or pickles on a hamburger for my child though they do have them ( no reason given ) Hotel front desk mgt could not control the chaos that was the check in area ( yes parents are partially responsible for this ). Failure to be able to make my magic band work on the door of the room i was in ( though there were no problems are CBR the week before ). Went to desk 3 times to fix..finally gave up. Only Cast Memeber who tried to help with anything was Alex. She was with the College program there. Nice looking hotel. Needs staff retraining from management on up.

My only complaint would be that there was rarely anyone in the lobby at the desk to ask a question of without waiting in an incredibly long check out line. One day we had a question about getting to dining at carribean beach bc there was a downpour, the skyliner was down, and no minivans available. We couldn't get through to the restaurant and was nervous we'd be late to Sebastians where we had a dinner reservation. There was someone at a separate desk that day but he was very busy and said he couldn't answer questions or help us call Sebastians. I tried waiting in the line for the counter to ask what to do but there were about 15 people ahead of us and it wasn't really moving quickly as that was mostly people checking in. Later he did come outside and tell us that they would be expecting people late bc of the storm and not to worry. We ended up calling an uber to get there and made it about 30 minutes late. It was all fine, but being our first trip in years and not knowing all the ins and outs, we wished it was easier to ask a question if you needed to without waiting in the check-in line that was usually long throughout the day.

One of the items we purchased during our stay was a throw blanket that disappeared when we got back to the room. it was left on the bed and house keeping said they didn't see it naturally they had the beds made before we got back to the room. We checked with lost and found nothing there then got an email saying case closed( ID#21650344) It was ironic that house keeping didn't see it cause they took it. They were the only ones in the room when we returned. All this happened before checkout time.

While the flooring was clean and looked like the old carpets had, the lack of carpeting makes the room very noisy. Walking down the hall you can hear people talking in their rooms and the noise from other guests coming and going in the evening was much more noticeable than on previous trips prior to removing carpets. The new beds were very comfortable.

It was gross to be honest. The shower drain was partially clogged (probably from hair build up) and drained super slowly so we had to shower quickly before the tub filled up. There were gnats everywhere even without food or drinks around. The room was also really small with very little ability to fit my walker through the door. I can't imagine someone who is in a wheelchair using these rooms.

• (8/10) Ugh...this reminds me why we don't go to Disney in the summer. Pools were just crowded and the water was bath water warm. Not refreshing at all. The theming of the pools is fantastic here. Other recreation, I guess you could count the free sketching class, which we did. I will definitely do that again. It is free and a fun souvenir. We have also done the tshirt tie-dying at a past stay, which is another interactive experience for a very reasonable price with a custom souvenir.

• (4/10) We used the buses and an Uber service. Long wait for the buses to and from the parks. Longer than any other hotel on property that I have stayed at. Also, was a long walk to get to wherever we needed for both busses or uber.

We left Epcot and arrived at our hotel within 45 minutes, including the transfer to a different skyliner at Caribbean Beach Skyliner station. I appreciate that there is still a bus for Epcot too...this gives AoA a way to get to both the front and back entrances of Epcot with ease! 10 out of 10 at Art of Animation!

We were trying to get to Hollywood Studio to get Boarding group for Rise of the Resistance and since we walked to the Skyliner first and it did open till 8 (same time of Studios) we had to walk back to the bus and of course we just missed it, so we ended up late to Studios. the other small issue is that from Magic Kingdom the bus for AOA is the furthest from the park, and there is always a line.
