• (3/5) Usually when we check in it is between 1 and 2. This time we waited until 4.


• (4/5) It did not take long, we just had a glitch with oone magic band.


• (2/5) Magic band didn’t work I tried using the phone in the lobby where my room was and the phone was broken had to walk all the way back with my bags to check in


• (5/5) Although we used online check in we still checked in upon arrival in an attempt to get all 4 rooms in one long house, preferred Tokelau, all close to each other. We were all in Tokelau, two rooms next to each other with a lock off and the other two same floor but across from each other.


• (5/5) Process was lengthy, but it was only due to a magic band issue that was caught during check in. They got it all fixed before we left and we had no issues afterwards.


• (2/5) We received text messages that room was not ready up to and after 4pm checkin. After 5 or 530, we inquired with the front desk. No wait and super friendly, we learned our room had not been "turned over" by mousekeeping. After a phone call it was done quickly, but it shouldnt be up to the front desk to follow up with housekeeping turning over rooms appropriately.


• (2/5) Disney computer problems causing magic bands not to work - could not purchase, could not get into pool area while waiting for room - we we given cards to go to pool and told that the problem was with the entire hotel - some cast members were not helpful and seemed not to care - one cast member was very nice and helped - she managed to have our charge ability added to magic bands for us and my daughter and her family - problems resolved by the time our room was ready ( before dinner time) and we were able to get into our rooms. After entering room, refrigerator still had previous guests leftovers and one bathroom had no soaps, etc. along with used soap still in dirty soap dish - found a housekeeper and asked her if could take the garbage from the refrigerator for me and she refused - told me I could go the garbage bin down the hall and throw it out - later saw another housekeeper ( very nice, a mgr.) who was surprised and took the garbage, also gave me new soaps and anything else I needed


• (2/5) There were only two people working at the check in area. The one gentleman we had was extremely slow. We waited in line over 20 min and took another 20 minutes to get us checked into our two DVC rooms.


• (4/5) I like to check in at the desk instead of using the app, assuming there is no line. The room was available right away, which was about 2pm.


• (4/5) Very Little wait time and no glitches, but could have gone faster if more staff were on duty


• (5/5) There is nothing like being greeted by a Polynesian employee with a lei upon entering the amazing Poly lobby. Check-in took less than 10 minutes, and room (DVC villa) was ready just after 1 pm.


• (5/5) Even though we do online check-in we enjoy stopping by the front desk to chat with the cast members and to ensure our room preferences hopefully have been met (not disappointed yet!)

• (3/5) The Poly is the only resort I can NEVER get a room early and sometimes not even before the check in time. It’s my only really gripe with the resort. The cast members at the front desk are always friendly and I know it’s out of their hands, but it’s still a headache.


• (5/5) We did online check-in. Upon turning my phone off of airplane mode once we landed, I got a text (it was 2:42) that my room wasn't quite ready. At 3:11, I received the text that my room was ready. We were still on Magical Express at that time. When we arrived, we had cast members welcome us and give us leis and take our photo (Photopass). Since we had our luggage with us, we went straight to our room using the map that is texted when you get your room number.


• (5/5) We stayed on the club level longhouse. The cast member from the check in area in the Grand Ceremonial house, physically walked us over to the check in area for the club level guests. On the way, he told us about a new flavor of dole whip and stopped by to get us samples. Super nice


• (2/5) Very long queue to check in with only 3 staff working at reception. No sense of urgency from supervisor to deal with queue

• (5/5) They were kind, welcoming and helpful! I miss someone standing giving out the lei’s when you check in though. Now it’s a more help yourself system


• (4/5) Arriving in late morning, I thought a bungalow would be ready since I assumed for the cash price/points per night, they would not all be booked. I was told that my room would be ready in an hour. After waiting for almost 90 minutes in the lobby, I checked on the room again. The CM told me they did have one available, but it was the last one next to the TTC if I wanted it. He then showed me the bungalow they assigned me and it was in a prime location-it jutted out furthest in the lagoon with unblocked views on either side. I said thank you and told him I would be glad to wait! Glad I did.


• (3/5) The Cast Member was efficient, but not engaging or magical at all.


• (4/5) We waited a long time for our room. The lobby was crowded with other people waiting. The positive is they had some characters come out and play with the kids and that was really cute and unexpected.


• (1/5) It took about a half hour to check in. Only 2 cast members working... It also took 15 min to see if my room was ready and it was not.. need more help


• (2/5) Did not receive room till 3:58pm. Understanding check i. is 4 that would have been fine and understandable. Issue was with cast member at check in who said they did not need to guarantee we would receive a room by 4 and that was just suggested. This message was delivered with a great amount of attitude and was not helpful at all. Just a terrible cast member interaction at the counter

• (3/5) First time staying in the resort so opted to do regular check in and found it a waste of time. The cast member while nice did not offer anything additional to the experience they handed me a map and a lei and sent me on my way.


• (5/5) Got text around 11:30 that room was ready. We arrived at 10:00 and had already left for park but they tried to get us room early.

• (4/5) Check in has been temporarily moved due to construction. Thankfully our room was ready and we were able to get settled in quickly.

• (5/5) Despite using the online check in option prior to arrival we stopped by the check in desk when we arrived to the resort at 11:30 am, just to let them know that we were here. To our surprise, our room was ready and they asked which building we preferred. The whole check in process took less than 15 minutes.

• (4/5) Did online check-in and had a room assigned before we landed mid-afternoon so we went straight to our room. It was efficient and convenient but a rather blah start since you don’t have to go through the lobby to get to your room. Later we got the full experience when we needed to update something at the desk. It made me realize how much the personalized check-in process in the lobby impacts your feelings about a resort.

• (5/5) Although it was not serious, I fell coming home one night. Four cast members stopped to help me. They were so sweet. One followed me back to the resort.


• (5/5) Each CM was pleasant, we had no issues to overcome so no true tests were done.


• (4/5) Some fabulous CMs, and one grouch at the Tambu lounge on my husband's birthday. Short, unhelpful. It was 10pm and it seemed as though he was mentally done for the day.


• (4/5) Generally friendly. We were offered a ride on the golf cart to get to our room. We didnt otherwise encounter many cast members outside of dining experiences, and that's a positive to me. Ohana wait staff was very strange in many ways (slow, odd, inconsistent), but I consider that a restaurant issue more than resort issue.

• (5/5) We found the Polynesian employees to be excellent. One cast member asked us what we were waiting for when we were in line at the front desk. We told him we wanted to buy tickets to Typhoon Lagoon. He told us to wait a minute, and came back with two free tickets that belonged to him that he could give to friends and family. Just one example of the Disney magic we experienced at the Polynesian.

• (5/5) I’ve NEVER had any issue with a cast member here. Everyone has always been very nice and helpful. We always love getting our leis upon check in and being greeted with a smile. But of course I must say that it will never be the same now with having Aunty there watching her make leis and greeting guests as well. She will be missed.


• (5/5) All cast members we encountered were very warm, welcoming and friendly from those working the gift shops, the security at the monorail station, the counter service restaurant, the dole whip window. We had concierge take our back on our check-out day to store since we didn't fly out until later in the afternoon and he was very nice (and got a nice tip!)


• (5/5) My 9 year old had a bad cough while we were in Orlando. The cast members from the club lounge were so kind, they brought us ginger ale and some crackers to keep in the room in case our son needed them. It was one one of the kindest things ever. The cast member was Ruth. She was awesome. So was another club level cast member, Irv. This was our third year staying there and he remembered us and was super kind. We can’t wait to go back and see the kind cast members again this summer.


• (2/5) Bad experience with reception staff on two occasions while staying. There was issues with dining plan over New Years and staff so rude.

• (5/5) Several magical breakfast moments at Capt. Cook's. One morning when my sister and I (who are 60+) were trying to navigate her grandchild's stroller through the line and a CM told me that breakfast was on Mickey! Super nice and blew me away.

• (2/5) I stayed at deluxe villa which is really hard to find your room . The hallways were dirty as well as the elevator which was never cleaned throughout my whole trip. Room is like a cave dark, lighting is terrible, furniture is scratched... This whole resort need a major renovation. It was my first trip to the DVC resort and I was really excited to stay there.. I will not return


• (4/5) Outside of cast member at check in the rest we encountered were helpful and very pleasant.


• (1/5) Guest services was horribly understaffed. I’ve stayed at multiple deludes recently and never have I seen such slow service. Only two people working at peak times so there was always a line and took 30 min to be helped.


• (2/5) Had two bad experiences with bell services and items being delivered to the resort. Both time they were short and unresponsive to our requests.

• (5/5) The cast members here are very friendly and welcoming. I was here with my oldest friend celebrating our 50th birthdays. They made sure we had pins to wear.

• Room Cleanliness: 21/25


• (20/25) As for the mouse keepers, they did a great job and the rooms were clean. But maintenance needs to make a bit more effort on a monthly cleaning of each room.


• (20/25) Some calcium build up on the shower head, otherwise very clean.


• (20/25) Minor complaint is that villa half bath shower floor is beginning to look worn well before any scheduled major renovation. Room is otherwise satisfactorily clean.

• (10/25) I had to contact management as trash and not emptied, portable bed rails were just left in the middle of the room along with the pack n play. Dead bugs in two of our wash cloths.


• (20/25) My only complaint is that at check in the glass on our sliding door was covered in fingerprints and the bathroom had some questionable wall stains near the toilet. After a call to housekeeping, they came and cleaned everything up. We didn't have any problems for the rest of our stay.

• (25/25) Our bungalow was spotless - I think it would have passed the Werner test easily. My only complaint would be that several times in the plunge pool had loosened and were laying in the pool. For the price/points I would think the bungalows would be better maintained.


• (5/25) My room had chips and balls of hair all over the floor when we checked in. I had to call twice and the Cast Member told me they would give me a "complimentary" cleaning. It was a horrible experience.

• (15/25) The choice of a dark tile in the bathrooms where there is hard water has lead to many spots where it looks dirty. The white reside is pretty gross. Overall the room was clean but this stood out to us and made it feel like it needed a good scrubbing.

• (20/25) The room was clean, by all regular standards. However, the choice of black tiles in the bathroom coupled with hard water makes things appear dirty. Having hard water at home, I fully appreciate the battle. Maybe a lighter tile would have been a better choice.

• (6/10) the delux studios need to have more lighting! the colors in decor make it darker and there should be more lighting as well as better options on providing natural light w/o making it easy for passers by to see in.

• (8/10) I love the ambience of the hotel and rooms, it’s my favorite. But I hate the dark railings on the second and third floor patios. Feels like a prison and it blocks your view when you sit down. I always request a first floor room at this hotel. Generally the rooms are huge and very nice. It’s on the dark side but that’s being picky.

• (5/5) Pools, activities and torch lighting, each meal were all as they should be.


• (4/5) Great, open lobby. Could use more spaces to sit when most busy, but I'm also not sure where those spaces should be. Gets super crowded when it rains and everyone stays ceremonial house to wait it out, that's a real down side to not having covered walkways. Individual long house lobbies are okay. Elevators feel a little small. Stairs are mostly outside. Grounds, including buildings and landscaping, are gorgeous.

• (2/5) Beautiful lobby, but since it’s a destination for people who aren’t staying at the Poly, it is way too crowded and loud in the evenings. Not what we want after a long day at the parks - so many people waiting for Ohana, having drinks in the lounge, waiting for Trader Sam’s, eating at Kona Cafe and Kona Island...we couldn’t find a quiet place unless it was our room. Granted - it was very cold outside, which meant everyone was inside...I imagine there are more people outside when it’s warm.

• Hotel Condition / Cleanliness: 13/15


• (12/15) Without looking too hard the studios are already showing wear and tear, some is normal and to be expected but I am not okay with mold in the showers where the glass wall meets the ceiling, moldy and rusted sprinkler heads etc.


• (9/15) No strong opinions here. Nothing really stood out positively nor negatively. Minor complaint is that villa half bath shower floor is beginning to look worn well before any scheduled major renovation.


• (12/15) Because the buildings are made of dark dark brown wood, with bright lights shining on them at night, you can really see the spider webs around the stairwells. It could use a good power wash. Otherwise, the property is very well-maintained.

• (9/15) The mattress on the queen bed was very used. Even with the bedspread on the bed, the hill in the middle of the mattress was noticeable. The mattress was so uncomfortable that my husband and I had two terrible nights of sleep.

• (6/15) I was in the Villa section and people are slobs. Not sure why. I stayed in this resort before it went to Villas a few times and it is horrible. Garbage in hallways- people I know you are on vacation, but if you have that much garbage take it to the waste area. Not that difficult.

• (4/5) Avocado toast at Capt. Cook's is terrible. Otherwise we had all good experiences with dining.


• (3/5) ‘Ohana, while delicious, feels rushed with your server bringing the food.


• (5/5) Captain Cooks may be the best quick service on property. Ohana is hit and miss, food is great but experience is overpriced *unless catching fireworks at night* in which case it's worth the hassle and every penny. Kona is up and down (like many Disney places) but the atmosphere feels too much like a nice food court sitting area. It's strangely got all the opposite atmosphere of The Wave (tends to be too quiet and feels like a basement). Pineappl Lania is excellent. Just enough options for coffee but wish there was more options later in the day.

• (4/5) I have a love hate relationship with dining and drinks at the Poly. Love O’Hana, love Trader Sam’s and love the Tambu lounge. Sometimes I love Kona and other times think it’s just ok, and the same for captain cooks. I love the Oasis Pool but the grill there usually has poor staff and the food is subpar.


• (4/5) Kona Cafe is great, Capt Cooks is good, Ohana was somewhat a let down.


• (5/5) Trader Sam's is such a fun late night, post-theme park destination for a cocktail. We now have about 35 mugs that we have brought home from our Trader Sams adventures. Also love O'hana dinner (and purchasing the O'hana dinner at the Tambu Lounge Bar), Captain Cooks and Tambu Lounge.


• (4/5) Need to restore Tangaroa Terrace buffet as another family friendly dining option. So hard to get dining reservations at the time of year we travel.


• (5/5) We loved the Kona Café and our server Lana! She was fabulous. We also ate at the Tambu Lounge and the bartenders were fabulous and the food and drinks were wonderful.


• (5/5) They knock it out the park for food and beverage. One of my all time favorites is Ohana and I think Kona has come a long way as well. And Capt Cooks is, in my opinion, the BEST quick service at at Disney Resort. Tonga Toast, coconut curry meatballs, pulled pork nachos, and so many other tasty treats. Throw in Dole Whips outside and Trader Sams and this resort is hard to beat.


• (4/5) We ate a few times at Captain Cook's. The food was good, nothing exceptional. One of the times, the cast member taking my order must have heard me incorrectly and put in the wrong thing which made the bill incorrect. When I pointed it out he was quick in calling over a manager to fix the problem.

• (4/5) Captain cookes service was great but menu needs to be updated. €11 for chicken wings...ouch


• (4/5) Ohana is a poor value and has been consistently disappointing in the past year with it's quality of food. It is never warm and often times overcooked for both Breakfast and Dinner. The servers express discontent and make comments about being overworked. Capt. Cooks is one of the best Counter Service locations at WDW.

• (2/5) Ohana wasn’t great. The meal was definitely rushed and didn’t feel special in any way. There were no games, our server barely spoke to us.. we basically sat down, had a bunch of food thrown on our table, paid our ginormous check, and left. The chicken and appetizers were good, but the other meats were pretty gross. The dessert was amazing!! Capn cooks - meh.

• (5/5) We ate at Ohana and had a great experience. I was a little worried after hearing about being rushed and bad service. But our server was great! We had a huge Green Bay fan with us and our reservation was during a playoff game. So to appease him we had one of our cell phones streaming the game. The server was great in no way rushed us even though we watched the game. Even came and watch some of it with us. The food was great already planning to come back our next trip.

• (5/5) A year and a half anxiously waiting to devour the Thai Coconut Meatballs and Pulled Pork Nachos! The Oasis bar and their drink options were convenient for a relaxing pool day. The mobile ordering from Capt Cooks was very easy to use.

• (4/5) Captain Cook’s mobile order gets backed up in the mornings. Once you select “I’m Here” it is still a solid 10 minutes or more to receive your food.


• (4/5) Quick service mobile order was very slow and I attribute that to the lack of other options for such a large resort. However the food was wonderful and selection was acceptable.


• (4/5) The table service options are great, and I especially loved the pool bar. Capt. Cook's needs a better menu for lunch and dinner, no good options.

• (10/10) Love all of the pools and kids play areas, the splash pad is showing some wear and tear that I hope they stay ahead of.


• (8/10) Only used the Oasis pool, which was wonderful. Numerous unsupervised small children in the hot tub though, about 6 and under, and CM said nothing though the signs said no unsupervised kids under 12. Jumping, roughhousing, etc. Took away from the relaxing evening after the parks.


• (10/10) Arguably the best pool on property. Super fun slide for kids and adults, and a nice splash pad, although it's a little big for little littles who may do better with splash pads at Kidani or beach at beach club. Great space, good pool bar. Is there a better pool to watch Disney fireworks? Nope. Resort also has great boating rec options that are underutilized (I'm guilty of this too).

• (10/10) Especially love the remodel of the Oasis quiet pool with the walk-in entry.


• (10/10) The pool area was clean and the bar at the main pool was great.


• (10/10) The pool here is only behind Stormalong Bay in my opinion. We love the volcano slide and it’s amazing at night to watch Happily Ever after from the pool or hot tub. Hard to beat that view.


• (10/10) We only visited the smaller "DVC" pool, but it had a bar with lots of seating if you wanted to get a snack or beverage or just sit and read pool side.

• (8/10) Took monorail numerous times, little to no wait. Bus to HS with 5 minute wait.


• (8/10) Good enough for the villas, they are closest to TTC and access to epcot, but it's still a wait for monorail and a longish ride. But really, other than MK access all MK resorts are overrated for location and have generally abysmal transportation to other parks. But getting to MK is great from Poly. Resort monorail from ceremonial house if granning breakfast, TTC is close if going straight from room. We prefer boat over monorail anyway. But it's a pain in butt getting back to resort after fireworks. I believe there should be a shared bus for Poly and GF after fireworks, to add an additional option for those spending big money on stays.

• (10/10) SO many options...monorail, ferry, water shuttles, buses, taxis! It's one reason Poly is our favorite resort!


• (10/10) Bus transportation was great. We really never waited. The monorail was great, too.


• (10/10) You can monorail of course to Magic Kingdom which is great and will be able to walk soon when the path from the Grand Floridian is done. You can also make the short walk to the TTC and catch the monorail to EPCOT which is a plus also.


• (8/10) This was the first time that we stayed at a monorail resort (well, we have stayed at BLT, but wasn't going to the parks while there) and we really enjoyed being able to catch the monorail to MK from the resort or make the short walk to the TTC to catch the monorail loop.


• (4/10) Monorail was unreliable on two of the four days. Delayed on our first day when we had tickets to Early Morning Magic, finally did show up. Next day, on our way to Epcot for Magic Hours, monorail got stuck on track. With us in it for over an hour. We got a multi experience FP but that certainly doesn’t make up for missing the entire extra magic hour


• (4/10) Wait for buses way too long on many occasions. One hour wait to get to Disney springs and 45 minutes to Animal Kingdom. Lots of other guests complaining about bus times as well


• (8/10) Share busing when the monorail is not usable is crowded and long because of having to stop at Grand Floridian. Walking to the TTC is a perk of this resort.

• (10/10) Love being on the monorail plus having the boat option to get to the Magic Kingdom. Used bus service very little.


• (4/10) I was expecting to love the monorail. I did not. It smells gross, was always broken down, and seemed to take forever to get anywhere (maybe due to all of the breakdowns?). I did like that you could go through security at the hotel. We stayed at AKL the same trip and our experience with the AKL busses was so much better than our experience with the monorail.


• (10/10) Monorail was terrific. Boat to MK also great. Only hiccup was bus back from Disney springs.

• (8/10) One complaint - the monitor at the bus stop that tells you when the buses will arrive to take you to the parks was broken the 5 days I was their. This expensive resort should not have that happen.


• (10/10) Disclaimer - we only visited Magic Kingdom and Epcot so we utilized the monorail to MK and walked back at night. We walked to TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot. We had a rental car and drove to Disney Springs so we never used bus transportation.

• (10/10) My situation is different from most people. A friend of the family belongs to DVC and he sells me his points for $14 a point. So I paid $ 1,260 for 5 nights. That is $252 per night so I am saving big money. That is why this resort is great for the money. Full price, NO.....


• (6/10) Disney is great and this was my 19th stay at the resorts which is always great but The NEW process to get into parks and on rides the elimenation of the FAST PASS NOT GOOD. GENIE = and doing everything via ones PHONE is very bad.
