(5/5) I did online check-in, but upon arrival I needed to change the card I had on file for room charges and to make sure that the magic bands that my husband and I wanted to use (limited edition bands from 2014) were connected to our reservation. Maritza was wonderful and helped us get everything sorted. She even made sure that my husband's MDE account was properly set up and connected to mine so I could continue to manage our FP+ and dining reservations.

However, I recieved a notification at 2:58pm saying the room wasn't ready but checking the My Disney Experience app to find that my room was, in fact, ready to the surprise of the front desk cast member who said "Your room literally just became ready now". Front desk cast was very nice but didn't seem to care too much.

(5/5) We arrived a day late so we missed our reservation at Artist Point. I emailed the GM about our situation and the assistant GM got us a new reservation. The recreation staff leader was amazing and remembered our son's name after the first time they met.

(2/5) Was not aware that because we were DVC that we would not get the same courtesies afforded 'paying' guests. The idea that our rooms would not be serviced for four days was pretty bad. One room did not even have sufficient toilet tissue for the stay. The only way finding out about the four day procedure was a slip attached to the bathtub. The other room received an email. Not everybody reads email while on vacation. Checking out was a nightmare and the treatment was rudeness on behalf of the front end supervisor. Had not checked out and one magic band was deactivated so there was no chance to get back to the room. This was done prior to 11:00, understood checkout time. Housekeeping tapped on the doors of the two rooms at 8:30 requesting permission to enter the room to begin cleaning.
Felt really short changed after spending a significant amount of money to join DVC and naming the lodge as our 'home' base.
(5/5) I have already mentioned Maritza above, but Mark (also at the front desk) was also amazing. Our 4-year-old son is very independent, but he is not quite tall enough to reach the faucet controls to wash his hands in the bathroom. Mark was not fazed at all when I went down to request a small step stool for my son to use. (Otherwise one of the adults would have had to pick him and hold him while he washed his hands each time.) Mark had to make a phone call, but not even 10 minutes after I returned to our villa, bell services delivered a step stool and made my son's day.
Every cast member we dealt with at Wilderness Lodge was amazing and went out of their way to be as helpful as possible. This was our first stay as DVC owners, and our first stay in a deluxe resort. We could not have been happier with every interaction we had with cast members.
(4/5) We did a split stay. The first week was in the cascade cabins and if we called it was handled immediately no matter what it was. The second half of our stay we were in cooper creek 2 bedroom villas and we had issues unlocking our room. We constantly had to go down and have them fix our magic bands, the house keeping came in without knocking and we had younger kids that would run around naked after the bath. That made me uncomfortable.

Because we were staying in a DVC villa on points, we did not get daily cleaning service outside of trash pick-up. This was not an issue for us, as we took care of our own dished, laundry, and other cleaning.
(10/25) Our room was 5052 and it was very dusty. When you walk into the room the little hall ceiling light was covered in an inch of dust along with the furniture and pictures had dust on them too. The mattresses definitely need to be changed and the whole room needs a complete overhaul and refurb.

(6/10) Only thing that bothered me I little bit the bounce back offer card that's in the room was a year old hadn't been changed in a very long time

The downside was the motion detector for the nightlight in the bathroom was malfunctioning, it would keep switching between on or off, and the couch in the living room was not the most comfortable, probably because it was a pull out bed.

(10/10) We were in an older room, which I was worried about, and I do not always rate Disney rooms highly for the price, but here I found the room enchanting and more than big enough. Not a huge fan of carpet in hotel rooms but the carpet here was as good as can be expected.

(8/10) We LOVED our copper creek studio. The first night in boulder ridge you can tell it needs renovation. The shower lay out was the most awkward but the whole room looked well used and loved before us.

Plus- the animals carved into the bed posts and Bambi and friends in the shower tiles are adorable! We also love the rustic lighting so much that we bought 2 similar lights for our own house.

What they had was a set of two nesting tables, both quite small.

They close it completely off at certain times, unlike the Contemporary lounge, which is always open to grab a water or soda pop.

(5/5) Because we went at Christmas time, the lobby and common areas were all decorated for the holidays. This was the first year that Wilderness Lodge put up a gingerbread structure in the lobby. The smell of the Christmas tree, mixed with gingerbread, and the smell of the bubbling spring combined to give a wonderful scent that evoked strong feelings of being at home.

(12/15) Most of the furnishings and decor look very new, almost like its only been open for a year or less. I saw no obvious damage to carpeting or to any walls.
(15/15) I did not see anything of note indicating any issues with this. Roaring Fork always seemed to have cast members in the dining room cleaning as people left their tables in varying degrees of disarray.

1. The Old Faithful Lounge had a great selection of snacks and food and breakfast was delicious as always. I could eat breakfast there every day and be satisfied with what was offered.
2. Whispering Canyon Cafe is still great for breakfast, food was delicious but I wish they would go back to more of the show, like it used to be.
3. Storybook Dining. Oh how I miss Artist Point. This was the worst meal of our entire trip. The character interaction was great but the food was not really good. We could have gotten a better meal at Denny’s. Extremely small portions on the appetizers, my prime rib was at least one third fat. Desserts were tiny. In fact I actually left the meal still hungry. I went to MNSSHP and filled up on chocolate afterwards.
(4/5) We are vegetarians, so while better then years past, I would still like a few more options at each restaurant. The restaurants themselves were great though.

It would be great for a weekend, for two weeks it is insufficient. Although geyser point is nice it is a shame there is no real pool bar, and you have to leave the pool area for all food and drinks.

There was only one other restaurant that was generally available without an ADR, Whispering Canyon. It's very difficult to secure a last minute ADR at the storybook dinner at Artist Point.
(4/5) Whispering Canyon Cafe is wonderful. This is a must do restaurant for every trip we make since we ate there in 2014. Lorry is a outstanding server, and even remembered us from our last trip.
Storybook Dining at Artist Point is a great character experience, but my family and I did not care for any of the appetizers given to the adults. Our son's appetizer of fresh veggie sticks and cheese stick was the only appetizer that any of us liked. The main entrees were delicious, and the desserts were amazing.
Roaring Fork was a also a great counter service meal when we didn't want to cook, and didn't want to eat at a sit down.
(4/5) Had great expectations for Geyser Point but overall fell short. Shortly before our trip, breakfast service was stopped. Missed out on the often raved about Eggs Benedict. Otherwise, food was typical counter service fair. Chicken Sandwich was dry but a refreshing drink from the large bar helped.

I also didn’t like the fact that the little play area for the pool was for a certain height. They didn’t let me oldest play on the equipment. She was an inch taller then the preferred height. There was no one else on the equipment but my children. They should include more children.

From what I could tell, the cast members at the main pool that were entertaining the children were engaging for the kids and entertaining for the adults, too. We also did the WL tour and our guide was really knowledgeable about the resort and its history.

(8/10) For a deluxe resort, the buses should arrive more often. Many days we waited over 30 minutes for a bus and one time 45 minutes

We spoke with CM who wasn’t sure if boats were still operating since MK had been closed for an hour, so he advised us to go to TCC and get a bus. Short walk he said..5 minutes. When we were close we met a security guard who stated no buses were running and about that time a Transportation Supervisor introduced herself and advised us that the boats were still running. So she said to take the monorail to MK and take the boat back to the Lodge. So we were escorted thru security and to the waiting platform for the monorail by a guard who also advised the CM at the monorail loading area what was going on with us and our dilemma. We waited 23 minutes for the monorail to arrive to take us to MK. Time is now 10:50. We board the monorail and stop at GF for a few min. As we are approaching the MK monorail station they announce that they will only be allowing people to board the monorail not exit because MK is closed. So now our only choice is to exit at the Contemp and hope to catch a boat. No such luck...boats drive right by the dock even though we are signaling them. So we leave the dock and go to lobby at the Contemp and speak with a manager who gets us a voucher and a taxi back to the Lodge at 12:50 a.m. So frustrating.

(4/10) Our bus broke down on the way to Hollywood Studios during extra magic hours. We had to wait on the side of World Drive for another bus and we missed our chance to ride slinky dog. The boat launches from the dock to MK were fine.
(8/10) Boats were great, especially the easy ride to MK. Being able to go directly to Contemporary was also a great plus. Buses weren't great, but we didn't have the nightmare issues I was expecting after the reviews I had heard before we went.

(8/10) Buses efficient, only had to wait once getting back from a water park. Boat services to other hotels and magic kingdom are excellent.

We did not need to wait long before the boats came and the ride to and from the resort was enjoyable. We had very good luck with the bus service to the other parks. The busses we were on were not crowded.
(4/10) We chose this hotel for the monorail, off course it was out off order. Boats full as well, no busses so we walked to the ttc to catch there a bus to the mk
(8/10) During our stay, only 1 boat was operating between WL and MK, so round trips could be as long as 45 minutes to 1 hour. If you just missed the boat, it was up to an hour before it came back.
(4/10) Here is the wrinkle at Wilderness Lodge. Buses seemed to come infrequently all day. I waited nearly 45 minutes for a bus to Epcot and then another 20 on the bus to get there. During that time, one bus to DAK came and ZERO for DHS. MK bus seemed to arrive every 10-15 minutes. The boat to MK wasn't any better as I waited about 45 minutes for that boat to arrive with a cast member taking people to Fort Wilderness saying "Don't worry, its making its turn right now it should be here any minute". Thirty minutes later, it arrived.
(10/10) Nothing beats arriving at the Magic Kingdom by a small ferryboat.
(8/10) No taxis lined up in front of the resort like we had at the Dolphin for a quick ride to our destination

WL does not have them -but a cast member did drive us to EPCOT for our dinner reservation

So many people were standing in line waiting for other transportation, and we just walked right onto our launch and were back at the resort in no time at all. Plus there is always something magical about traveling by boat at night!
(8/10) Since we are two scooter-users, we often have to wait for a bus that can load up both ECV's. It's just something we have to deal with, but we are not crazy about it. We have noticed that when we have to wait for a bus through several bus appearances, a driver will let transportation know - which is very nice and always seems to work.

And then during showers the water pressure would drop to a trickle for up to 30 seconds and then come back up again! I have never experienced this before and it happened every day of our trip.

We needed the space for people, but the room is slightly smaller than led to believe and with the Territory Lounge under renovation, the direct to room food service for items that would have been offered in the lounge was not worth the cost and was at most times a hassle as you had to be present at a particular time to receive the food. Mostly ended up not using this service as we were in the parks or heading to/from the parks at those times.

Its an expensive room considering you don't have direct access to a monorail and unreliable buses. I would have rather stayed at a moderate resort and feel like I am getting value for my dollar.

Overall Impression: A beautiful resort. My only big contention was: we have club level lounge access which is on the top floor. Deluxe rooms are at the end wing of the resort facing the boat dock and Bay Lake. It’s one heck of a walk to the elevator, swipe your band to go up, then another long walk just to get to the lounge. To make it worse, we were on the first floor. It was a lot quicker just to go to the roaring fork with refillable mugs for drinks and coffee than a 10 minute trip to the lounge.

Overall Impression: Rethinking the whole process of DVC. Was prepared to purchase additional points but this visit has left us with, needless to say, bad thoughts. I purchased additional points to add to original contract, my daughter also bought points to coincide. Overall Impression: We love this resort, and started planning our next two trips as we drove under the welcome sign on departure day. The resort is beautiful inside and outside. The activities offered are fun and engaging. The rooms are spacious and the views are breathtaking. The sounds of the stream and waterfall were very calming while sitting on the balcony after a long day in the parks.

Overall Impression: We loved Wilderness Lodge! Each day I looked forward to going back to the resort after a long day in the parks. We took a second trip to WDW in October and even though we didn’t stay at WL we took a ride over from Fort Wilderness just to go back to Geyser Point for a drink and to walk around for a bit. I would recommend that anyone stay at WL - it is great for adults and kids alike.

Overall Impression: Overall, I understand the charm for Wilderness Lodge but its not for me. The lobby is awesome, dining is abundant with lots of options and cast is wonderful. However, if you're looking for a great experience here for your vacation, better to stay DVC or another deluxe resort on the monorail loop or Epcot area. The courtyard room I had was only ok and didn't drown out the noise of neighbors or pool goers. Beds were comfortable but I'd rather stay someplace else in the deluxe family next time. For the price I paid, I expected more.

Overall Impression: We were super excited to stay at Wilderness Lodge. Our family of five is typically too big to stay here so we've never been able to expeirence it. I had an unexpected work trip come up that my wife could join me on so we took our first trip without the kids. We had a great time. The hotel is gorgeous. We had a standard view and watched the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our balcony nightly. Our room was worn. Furniture was stained. The rooms are in need of deep cleaning or refurbishment.
