Any Disney cruise is a magical experience! However, if you’re looking for an extra special sailing, you’re in luck — Disney Cruise Line has several unique cruises you can try.

Star Wars Day at Sea

This is perfect for those who love Star Wars. These special Star Wars cruises are offered on seven-night sailings that travel to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

On every Star Wars cruise, there is an entire day at sea devoted to the films.

You can meet beloved Star Wars characters like R2-D2 and C-3PO, Boba Fett and Chewbacca. Younglings can attend Jedi training sessions.

Once night falls there is an epic Star Wars deck show followed by fireworks.

There are so many fun events, it’s hard to list them all here: There are panel discussions by people who worked on the Star Wars films, trivia, screenings of all the films, scavenger hunts and even Star Wars drawing classes!

Marvel Day at Sea

These sailings celebrate everything Marvel. They’re available on select 5-night cruises to the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas.

Spend an entire day at sea enjoying numerous Marvel-themed experiences. You can come face-to-face with Iron Man, Black Panther, Thor, Captain Marvel and more.

There is a show at night up on deck followed by special fireworks.

Star-Lord and Gamora will make an appearance with adults at Fathoms — a dance party will ensue, of course.

You can join Doctor Strange in the Walt Disney Theater and watch his epic confrontation with the Dark Dimension.

The super hero celebration wouldn’t be complete if you couldn’t show up in costume, so costumes for young and old alike are encouraged. There are smaller events as well, such as trivia, Marvel cartoons on the outdoor funnel vision and all the Marvel films showing in the Buena Vista Theater.

Halloween Cruise

Halloween and Disney — there hasn’t been such a great combination since peanut butter and jelly. Disney does Halloween right. Starting in September and going through Halloween itself, all the Disney cruise ships celebrate Halloween on the High Seas. The ships are decorated, and the feature event is the Halloween Tree, which sits prominently in every ship’s atrium.

Many Halloween activities are on offer:

Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party where one can play special Halloween games, trick or treat, dance and meet Disney characters dressed in their Halloween costumes.

Throughout the cruise you can participate in many smaller events like pumpkin carving, ghost stories and mask making.

You can watch the ever popular The Nightmare Before Christmas and meet main characters Jack and Sally afterwards.

There’s even a special costume contest just for the adults!

Lots of guests like to get in the spirit and decorate their cabin doors with their best and most creative Halloween decorations.

So if you love Disney and Halloween, this is definitely the special cruise for you.

Christmas Cruise

It’s Disney, they go all out for Christmas, so of course they have Very Merrytime sailings!

These cruises set sail from mid-November up through Christmas Day itself.

Let’s start off with the 24-foot Christmas tree that will welcome guests as they board the ship. From there, the ships are all beautifully decorated with lights, garlands, poinsettias and a life-size gingerbread house.

There are so many extras on a Merrytime cruise. Of course Santa and Mrs. Claus are on board. Mrs. Claus even has a delightful story-time event. Anna and Elsa provide the magical snowfall. There is a lively “Deck the Deck Tropical Holiday Party.” All the Disney characters are dressed in their Christmas best. Disney Cruise Line also does Christmas treats right!

If you decide to sail on Christmas Eve and Day, you’ll get even more special events like cookies on Christmas eve, special holiday towel animals and caroling.

Castaway Cay isn’t left out of the holiday cheer. The private island features it’s own Christmas tree, Mr. and Mrs. Snowman visit guests, and the tram is made up like a reindeer.

Panama Canal Cruise

A Panama Canal cruise is a great idea for people who are looking for something a little different.

The Panama Canal is one of the greatest human feats of engineering. It serves as a central waterway for trade and tourism between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean. Just the history behind the canal is fascinating. People first started to dream up the idea in the 16th century, when the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles V, ordered surveyors to determine if construction was possible. They came to the conclusion that it was not possible. It wasn’t until the late 1800s that France had a go. It was not successful, and the canal was not completed until the United States finished it in the early 1900s.

So not only do you get to experience and live this amazing engineering and historical achievement, you get to do it in style on the Disney Wonder. Panama Canal cruises always sail on the Wonder, which is one of the smaller Disney ships. Many people prefer the smaller ships, since they hold less people and can feel less crowded.

These sailings are offered just a couple times a year and are 14 nights. There are plenty of at-sea days so if you love to explore the ships or relax and take it easy, these might be perfect for you.
