This year is the 25th anniversary of Universal Mardi Gras, so you can expect this year to be very exciting. The theme of this year’s parade is Treasures of the Deep. The nightly Mardi Gras parade will debut six new floats inspired by mystical creatures of the deep, the sunken city of Atlantis and more. Plus, the fan-favorite floats will return to the parade with all-new decor celebrating 25 years of party. The parade runs throughout the streets of Universal Studios Florida in Production Central, Hollywood, and New York, so there are plenty of ideal viewing spots.

New to this year is the Carnival Around the Universe tasting tent that will feature dishes inspired by carnivals worldwide.┬áNew menu items will debut bi-weekly at Carnival Around the Universe, so you’ll want to come back and experience Universal Mardi Gras multiple times to get the full experience. In addition to the Carnival Around the Universe tasting tent, all of the authentic Cajun cuisine you’d normally find at The French Quarter Courtyard will return along with the Mardi Gras Tasting Lanyard that can actually save you money if you want to try basically one of everything. Also returning is the Bayou Boil add-on experience that replicates the experience of a New Orleans crawfish boil.

The most important thing to remember about Universal Mardi Gras is that it’s included in your park admission making the event FREE! This even includes the 16 concert dates. You can also take advantage of Universal Mardi Gras by becoming a Universal Orlando Annual Passholder, but keep in mind that blockout dates can apply on some annual passes. Universal Mardi Gras is one of the best times of the year to visit Universal Orlando and the 25th year of Mardi Gras is one you won’t want to miss.
