According to The Florida Highway Patrol, a 9-year-old boy riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a bus in the Walt Disney World transportation fleet around 1:35 p.m. EST. The incident occurred near the Fort Wilderness Campground on Big Pine Drive and the victim was declared dead at the scene. Reports also suggest the boy was riding with a friend who was not injured in the accident. The bus driver and 28 passengers were held for questioning according to a Walt Disney World spokeswoman Andrea Finger. In speaking with the Orlando Sentinel, Finger added, "We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the boy's family and loved ones for their loss. We're currently providing the necessary resources and care to help the family with this situation."
