Disney's Let the Memories Begin

In a live webcast announcement today, Disney has announced their new celebration and theme for 2011. "Let the Memories Begin" will celebrate all the memories that guests are making with their families every day in the Disney theme parks, resorts and Disney Cruise Line. One of the ways Disney is planning to showcase these memories is with a new nighttime show that features photos of the guests taken during their day at the parks. At Walt Disney World, these photos will be projected onto Cinderella Castle and at Disneyland, they will be shown on the "it's a small world" attraction. PhotoPass photographers will take photos of guests all day to use in these special shows.

Disney will also use the "Memories" concept in their social media ads, including television, print and online. Ads will feature real home videos and photos of their park guests making vacation memories with their families. Guests will be able to submit these videos and photos through a newly created website.

While making the announcement, Tom Staggs, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said, "A Disney vacation is the perfect way to create family memories that will last a lifetime. We'll spotlight those 'only-at-Disney' moments with family and friends during our 'Let the Memories Begin' campaign."
